Have you looked at Ron Paul? He is a Congressman from Texas and is running for President on the Republican ticket, but the media acts like he doesn't exist.

Despite my choice of candidate and political party, will you guys still be my instantcert friends? Big Grin

Sure thing.

I commend your honesty. Hey, we still have religious freedom in America . . . but we may not if people like Hillary keep getting it. I only encourage you to do some soul searching to see if Hillary really stands for what is right. You can always cast a different vote in the general.Smile

Are you a Democrat, Republican or Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your spouse and two small children.

Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you.

You are carrying a Glock 40 cal., and you are an expert shot.

You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Democrat's Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor? Or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
What does the law say about this situation?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?
Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
Should I call 9-1-1?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and make this happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior!

Republican's Answer:

BANG!

Southerner's Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click..... (Sounds of reloading) BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click
Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?
Son: Can I shoot the next one!
Wife: You Ain't Taking That To The Taxidermist!

I was hoping Thompson would do more than he did.... that whole thing was sad. Anyway -- Hillary's power hungry, Obama's sincere but sincerely-misguided -- and -- McCain. Help us all. (Guess I'll still be voting for him -though--unless the third party candidate has a chance of beating Hillary) SOOOO -- all in all: who's ready to move out of the country????

Not even close. If you really take an objective look at conditions in the USA compared to other places around the world and other times in history, we're doing just fine. Of course things are not perfect, but we have a healthy, growing economy (we might see one quarter of negative growth, but it's no more than a hiccup), low inflation, low unemployment, we're living longer than ever (even though we're overweight and out of shape), and we're succeeding in the fight against radical jihadist terrorism. I'm supporting McCain now (I was supporting Romney last week and Giuliani before that), but whoever wins in November will be my President and will have my full support and best wishes.

I'm still a conservative Republican, but I'm an American first, and I'd much rather see my party struggle than see my country fail. Democrats are my political opponents, but not my enemies -- they're my friends and neighbors.

Funny thing is, I actually might move out of the country for a couple years hilarious . I'm considering the idea of spending a year or two teaching English in Japan, just for the adventure of it. That's been one of the motivating factors in getting my degree.

I wasn't trying to imply that conditions were bad in the US! I'm just worried about what she will look like in 4 years after the Dems have had their time in office. (Doesn't the thought of Universal healthcare scare you??)

I wish I were more excited about McCain...but...I fear that he's just a liberal in disguise.

Conditions are bad. Just because we may be the best country in the world, doesn't mean we're the best that we can and should be. What's the standard? Red China? Modern Americans don't know what true freedom is.

Goethe said, "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."
