I believe I've solved this issue for under $500 (using the Big 3, ironically enough):

If you need 12 RA credits than one of the NM CCs at $50/credit would add $600.  That would be at least $1100. Still an educational steal.  Smile  Where do I write my check! Then you use them all towards a BS with the Big 3. Anything under $2000 is a great deal.

What is the basis for thinking that UExcel and TECEP exams can be used? Nowhere in the general catalog does it say these exams are accepted.

They want credits from RA schools and a GPA. One UExcel would count as credit from a RA school (Excelsior, with a GPA), and TECEPs would also count as credit from a RA school (TESU).

Oh, yes, I see. That's a good idea. If a student hasn't been admitted to Excelsior, how does passing a UExcel count? Would it appear on a UExcel transcript? Similarly, does the passing of a TECEP create an entry on a TESU transcript without ever enrolling at TESU?

Enrollment would be required for each.

This is a really great set of questions. I have been thinking about sending all of my transcripts everywhere after I'm done with my BSBA just to see if any of it sticks in strange places. Like, I wonder if my old community college will transcript all of the credits I have earned in different places. Or maybe the place where I earned my MAT would backwards transcript credits? I was also thinking about a situation like CSU CBE. I have to take two exams there and I was originally thinking about not going through the admissions process, but now I think that I will just so that I can send transcripts there. There might be some advantages. We know that some colleges award credits for different classes based on a single study.com, etc. course. If it is transcripted at two different colleges as two different classes, you now have credits on a transcript for two different classes. This could be important in certain situations.

You don't need to be an enrolled student. I took a Uexcel as a non-matriculated student. TESU offers TECEPs to non-enrolled students. Excelsior generates a Uexcel transcript. I think TESU gives you a regular TESU transcript.

I could be wrong, but I was looking up some of the classes on the pierpont.edu 2018 schedule and it appears many (actually, maybe even most) are not available online.

If you plan on taking more than one TECEP, you may want to apply anyway as the fees are cheaper. As a bonus, you could then send the rest of your credits there for eval towards a future degree, if desired.
