Please post links to some example threads where you are experiencing this problem so I can try to figure out what's going on.

It's been happening to me a lot in http://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/showthre...?tid=27277, but it's been other threads here and there as well (but only if I have posted within that thread)

Thanks for that link. From doing a search on the Web, I have found a potentially related bug that happens when users delete posts -- posts after the deleted posts can start acting flaky.

There were definitely some deleted posts in that thread. Any other threads in which you encounter the bug, please post them here so we can see if they follow that pattern of having deleted posts.

By the way, I have modified permissions so that users can no longer delete their own posts and there is a 6-hour time limit for editing your own posts. I didn't realize those permissions were enabled for everyone (they were disabled on the old forum software).

Cool, I like that change. Even 6 hours is super generous. The disruption in the flow of threads when something is deleted/edited after the fact is a pet peeve.

Anyway, thanks for looking into it.
