Also, everything you guys just geeked out about is a foreign language to me. Bottom line, is it something I can easily fix or should I just be patient? (LOL I'm not very good at being patient)
Depending on your browser, just look up how to change settings and whitelist StraighterLine's site. I doubt that would cause a slowdown, since I have no better speeds when accessing StraighterLine through my factory-default Chrome install than I do when accessing through my Firefox privacy-rigged install (with ABP, Disconnect, HTTPS Everywhere, and NoScript)

Basically just allows ads and ABP-blocked popups on the site.
For Firefox:
Upper right-hand corner, look for the red octagon / stop sign with "ABP" listed in the center.
Click the down arrow directly to the right of the red octagon.
In the dropdown menu, select "Disable on [URL | straighterline.com | degreeforum.net] (this is based on the site you are currently accessing)

For Chrome:
Click the Chrome menu button, then go to "Tools" and choose "Extensions".
Find Adblock Plus there and click on "Options" under its description.
Edit options as necessary (add desired website here)
Click the "Update now" button.
If you're using it for Internet Explorer, I'd consider making the switch to something better (Firefox or Chrome are good. Even Microsoft Edge is better than Internet Explorer at this point)
