I had the same message from TESU way back when I registered in March. They specifically said it was $1422 with the discount. I had confirmed it on these boards too at that time. I would be really surprised if its suddenly changed. ***As a matter of fact, after I registered I couldn't figure out how to pay for the course so I called the bursar's office, talked to someone and paid over the phone. They confirmed verbally that it was $1422 with discount.***

To get the affiliate pricing, does one need to have an active Study.com subscription at the time of TESU application? Does having a significant # of past-earned Study.com hours make one eligible for the discount(s)? Just trying to figure out if we need to time our reactivation of the Study.com account with the TESU application. My son only needs 2-3 months of Study.com at some point in the future, but I have to time it around his dual-enrollment courses at local college.
I came to this forum researching for my now 17-yr-old son who was earning credits via testing and online courses. He completed TESU's BUS-421 in March 2018, the capstone for the TESU BSBA GM degree. Below are the courses he took:
Study.com: Business 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 109, 113, 121, 308, 309; Economics 101, 102; Finance 101, 102; History 103, 104, 106, 108; Math 103; Political Science 102; Religion 101; Geology 101; Nutrition 101; Chemistry 101; English 305
SL: Intro to Communications, Accounting 1&2, Financial Accounting
ALEKS: Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, PreCalculus, Statistics
TEEX: Cybersecurity 101, 102, 103
Sophia: Developing Effective Teams
312N-H Ethics & the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct
Community College: English 101 & 102, Calculus 1
TESU: MAT-105 Applied Liberal Arts Math TECEP, BUS-421-OL BSBA Capstone Course (January 2018 term)

If they charged me too much I would love to know that but wonder how hard it would be to get the money back as I'm already half-way through the course.
I am out of state and when I added a course it was 1098, which is a 402 dollar savings.

You have to have study.com course completed and transferring in. They did not require me to prove anything when I initially added the study.com affiliation to my account but I am sure they will make sure you have Study.com courses transferring in prior to giving graduation. So NO I would say it doesn't have to be active just at some point a member (scholarship does/did count)

I just sent a message to study.com and TESU. I hope there is a discount from what I was charged and maybe I'll get some money back. I am just wondering why it wasn't applied from the start and why some students are being charged $1098 and some $1422. I'll keep you all updated when I hear something.

Do you have to do the capstone though when you get your degree through TESU? Or is it only for some degrees, such as General Management, that you don't have to do the capstore?
117/120 credits towards a BSBA General Management degree from TESU.

You need to do a capstone for all Bachelors degrees from TESU. The BSBA had (it's going away this month) an option for TECEP for the capstone.
All other degrees from TESU have a Arts, Science, or some type of casptone. Basically, only some Associates do not have capstones.

Here is the message from TESU...
"You were charged the correct tuition of $474 per credit as a non-NJ resident affiliated with Study.com. A few students may have received the NJ resident tuition as were setting up the program."
So if you were out-of-state and charged the lower amount then it was a glitch and you got lucky. If you are making plans going forward, TESU will be less likely to make the same mistake again in the future.

People who took courses before were charged $1422, and people who try to register NOW are seeing $1098 (although I don't think anyone's actually succeeded in paying that yet). TESU's left hand doesn't know what it's right is doing again.
