Synicaal Wrote:No idea about New Jersey with the CPA Exam. Its funny that New York will accept ACE Credit for the number of credits complete but not for the actual accounting requirements. This is one of two reasons I am getting my Accounting Credits from BM schools (accepts for a few UL). Since this post however I have decided not to pursue the CPA only to be eligible to sit for it. Having the eligibility to sit for it seems to carry a lot of weight with Civil Service and that's is where I am looking at moving up in my career. Foothill Community College in California has an auditing class this summer, and if you take only one class it's about $155 for the class _ I'm not sure about other fees. They are on the quarter system, though - each class is five quarter hours, I think that would translate into 3-1/3 semester hours. On a different topic - just wondering... how much did you have to pay for the book, etc. at Oakton?

I paid $140 but that was for e-book and Wiley access for the semester only. Looking back I should have purchased the book, the book itself is like 240 and that is with a Wiley Code. That would have covered me if I do go back and take Int Acc I at some point.

If you want a hard copy, you can always get an older edition for cheaper - I don't think accounting changes that much in a few years. If you would ever take Intermediate I as a class, you would have to buy the Wiley access again in any case - so you definitely did not lose out that way.
