Hello,
Last month I took MY first CLEP exam, It was Principals Of Management, and I failed it. I used a study download located on the internet, and I was only familiar with about 50% of the questions on the test.
I just found Instant Cert today, and it appears that it is much better than what I was used on my first one
My question is, I am going to take other CLEPs while waiting out the 90 days, and I was wanting to take one that is considered by the experienced to be not as "difficult". I am hoping that if I can pass some, and gain confidence, I will not be so concerned when I retake the POM exam. I am not needing any particular subject on my transcript, I am only needing the additional credit hours. I will be taking 13 CLEPs total.
Would someone please recommend some?

You have to take personal finance first but then you can take management and it has a placement test. You can finish a big chunk of the exam and not have to wait to retake the clep. Plus you can take 4 other courses.

For me, Intro to Soc CLEP was pretty easy, as was Into to Psych CLEP.
Does your testing center/college administer/accept DSST exams?

I think the easiest clep is the one you have some kind of background in. If you think that you could swing it, Analyzing and Interpreting Literature is considered one of the easier ones, also Principles of Marketing. I, personally, did not find Intro to Psych easy, but it's do-able with a good prep. I thought Intro to Sociology was easy, my friend took it and thought it was hard.
I would try to get hold of the official practice book of clep tests (I got mine from my local library, but I think it's only about $25) and look through the tests to see which one looks like something you could try, or looks interesting.
I also think that the key to passing ANY clep is to prepare correctly. Once you are prepared, you can really pass easily. For A&I, I would do some practice tests, either from REA book, or the clep prep books. For marketing, I would think that Instancert fill-ins are the way to go. I think that it's really all about preparing the right way, and then any test can be passable.

I feel like it's safer to use 2 sources for study material. Oh, and definitely using ones specifically meant for the CLEP.
DSST seem easier in general. There are some that are extra easy like the DSST Here's to Your Health.

I appreciate the info. I am totally unfamiliar with the DSST at all, but I am interested. My only goal is credit hours on my transcript.

What are you doing with these credit hours? Are you already at a school that accepts them? Are you planning on going to a specific school with them? Do you know if they accept ACE recommended credit, or just CLEP? What school?

Honestly the trick to CLEP exams is simply your studying method. We can sit here and list all the one we have taken and rank them by what we think is difficult but that would mean nothing to you. Honestly look over the exam breakdowns then look at the sample questions. If any subject jumps out at you take that one. There is a bunch of Psychology CLEP exams that go in order which you might really enjoy like I did. Also the exception to my statement may be A & I Lit CLEP, now I failed this one but I am sure it was because the amount of Poem's I got on my test. I am not good at poems and don't think I ever will be.
I would pick an exam, purchase the REA Guide from Amazon. Study until you feel like you can hit at least an 80% on the REA practice tests.
Also if you plan on taking 13 CLEPs, spend the money on the Official CLEP Study Guide. It will be well worth the money.
Pro Tip: Use REA, Supplement with YouTube and InstaCert. Obviously the downfall to the REA guides is they run around 25$ each. So you are looking at
80$ - CLEP EXAM
20-25$ - Test Center Fee
25$ - REA Guide
Per Exam which increase overall price per credit but passing them is worth the extra $25 to me, and don't forget to divide the cost by 13 for the Official CLEP Guide.

Also what do you mean by Goal is Credit Hours on my transcript? What transcript? What School? A lot of schools won't add CLEP credits to your transcript just because. I know the CC I am going to right now won't do this.

I am self employed, and there is a particular state license that I am trying to achieve to be able to expand my company. The state does not require a degree, but I need 60 credit hours total, in any subject to be eligible for the license. I have 21 credit hours, and I need another 39. The college here will add them to my transcript.
