I need 5 more free elective credits before October to graduate. I was thinking that I was going to do Humanities, but now I am thinking about the Social Sciences & History CLEP instead. I would take the 6 credit math if I could but I already have too much math.
What is your opinion on Humanities versus Social Sciences & History? Which is harder?
I like that Humanities has specific flashcards, but there is a ton of information to memorize and it is not a subject that interests me at all...ironic being that long ago I was a music major. The same may be true for Social Sciences & History. I have not really even started to study Humanities, so nothing would be lost if I change my mind. Also, will any of the exams that I have already taken have any carryover for either Humanities or Social Sciences & History?
Thanks in advance.

Go for the Humanities exam. Use IC, the COMEX book too!

Sorry that I am not an expert to answer your question, but I could not help notice that you passed the "Intro to Computing" DSST.
Any recommendations to help study for it?
I did not see a DSST on IC for this.
Thanks.

So, you would say that Humanities is easier than Social Sciences and History? I am looking for the easiest route and I think that I may be able to walk in and pass Social Science and History without any study, but I don't think that I could do that with Humanities. I am just trying to get a feel for the level of difficulty between the 2 exams...thanks

humanities is by far one of the hardest clep test, stay as far away from this as possible. Unless you are well versed on ancient architecture, philosophers, ancient and modern art and random writers. go with the social science test, I took it cold and got a 60, it isnt that hard there is a lot of psyc and sociology on it which is mostly general knowledge.

I think both tests are doable with little study. With your musical backround I think Humanities would be easy, but Social Sciences & History shouldn't be that bad. If you choose Humanities use the Comex!

Humanities is a bear of a test IMO. If you have the option, avoid it!
I passed with a 64 after 4-5 weeks of concentrated study, some blood, a lot of sweat and (almost) tears.

Just to add my 2 cents....I'd definitely go with the Social Sciences & History CLEP. This was my very first CLEP and I recieved a 60.
I would try to get your hands on the Barron's CLEP 2008 book, and any other CLEP related books that include sample questions. All I did was go through the sample questions from 3-4 different books and studied the sample practice tests in the Official CLEP Study Guide.
I also brushed up on some subjects like Sociology and American Government on IC.
Long story short BMILLS....on a scale of 1 to 10 I rate this exam a 4.
