I applied for the ASPSS in Emergency Manangement more than six weeks ago. I just received my degree audit from TESC. It says I need 33 SH. They only gave me credit for 9 of my 31 FEMA courses. Has anyone else on this forum applied for the ASPSS and not received credit for FEMA courses?
I have 31 FEMA courses, 3 NFA courses, 12 PONSI credits for the NYC Fire Academy, 15 credits for Clep exams, and 9 credits for DANTES/DSST exams.

I would suggest you cross reference this list and speak with a TESC representative about the list.

Please remember that some current courses offered by FEMA are
NOT in this list.
Please reference this thread for more information regarding FEMA and TESC Disaster Services program.

Don't forget any additional credits you can receive from USFA.

TESC gave me a hard time with my police academy courses. I switched to Excelsior who were much more flexible. TESC is OK but their not as flexible IMHO and their customer service is severely lacking. You might want to submit your coursework to Excelsior as well and see who gives the most credit. I received probably 20 more credits at EC than at TESC with my transfer work.

Hello all,
I am currently mapping my plan for a TESC Business degree and would like to maximize FEMA credits. Does anyone know if TESC accepts FEMA credits for General Education electives? Or will they only accept for Free Electives (18 hrs max)? Their catalog states they will award up to 25 hours, but I haven't been able to find any info as to where the credit can be applied.
Also, of the approx 40 available courses, any guidance on which ones are the least time consuming?
Thanks much,
Rob

I have seen the list and have spoken to an advisor (Alicia Malone) and she was not very helpful. I will try one more time and if not successful I will apply to Excelsior. TESC's customer service is horrible (my experience so far) and their evaluation staff is even worse.

They did not accept any of my FDNY academy credits.

If I decide to go with TESC, then I will look further into the AS Disaster Services program. Right now, I'm awaiting feedback from both Excelsior and TESC about my chosen Bachelor Program (have not included FEMA courses)
