Thanks for posting this. Passed today with a 92%. Plus I learned some new stuff, which was pretty cool.
BSBA/Accounting TESU (2016). MSA UIUC (2018).
Need help with portfolios? I earned 18 credits at TESU through portfolio evaluations. Nine of those were for upper level accounting courses. My advice for PLA/portfolios: TESU portfolio tips The first post has the Portfolio Checklist I created. Page ten has the actual narrative I wrote to receive credit for ACC-440.
Using Straighterline's Financial Accounting as a substitute for TESU's Intermediate Accounting I? Don't do it if you are an accounting major and/or want your CPA license. They are not the same course and I think TESU has erred in accepting the SL course as Intermediate I. I made this discovery here: Intermediate Accounting II.

took this a few days back and passed with a 89%. Took about 40 minutes to complete. I won't lie..... the lay out of sophia is fantastic. If I needed some of their gen eds I would definitely be taking it through them. Some of their other courses like conflict resolution would be nice to have on a transcript. However, being that it is not a degree req I can't really justify the $279.
TESU March 2020 Graduation
--ASNSM Mathematics
--BSBA Accounting
--BA Computer Science
University of Alaska Fairbanks (December 2021 Graduation Goal)
--MBA (2/10 : 4.0)
I started this journey in the summer of 2016. I hoped to be done sooner, but I am still proud of the rate at which I have gotten my schooling done with respect to the many months of military training and deployments I have undergone.

I took their Project Management course a few years ago when it was free, and I LOVED their setup. The dashboard is fantastic.

I took Project Management as well when it was free. One of the reasons I was so excited about study.com was that it reminded me of Sophia!
I wish Sophia was cheaper, because I like their take on e-learning, and their videos are varied and well done. Also, the learning environment is "warmer", if that makes sense. I enjoyed it immensely.

Oh! One more thing. If you don't want to email them (if you're having issues logging in and taking the class), you can simply use the real time chat interface. They fixed my login immediately, and I was able to sign up.

Yes, I remember having some problems (I can't remember exactly what, I think it was with the proctored exam), and they were great about getting the issue resolved very quickly. Very responsive.
I agree that if they were cheaper, I would have taken everything possible with them. I probably might have even paid a little more than average (maybe $150?), but unfortunately, $329 is a lot for courses I can get for $100 or less. It's a bummer.

Almost finished with this course (taking my time), and I take it back: Sophia and Study.com are nothing alike...they share "video" and "transcript", but that's it. I enjoyed Study.com and am grateful for it! I love their use of technology and innovation...but I love Sophia. I love their learning format that reinforces key ideas from different angles and repitition, whereas Study.com is more like a lecture. Neither is "bad" or "good", just different. But I really like Sophia. Wish it was cheaper, lol!

I had a family member take this freebie. Here is the feedback:
1) This course took almost an hour. Finished the final in around 15 minutes of the 2 hours allotted. 96% score from missing one question on the final which I would contest if it mattered.
2) Almost all of the answers were guessable with common sense intuition, so no need to read the material. One question required a numerical value which had to be determined from the tutorial.
3) Thanks for the one free credit to the OP and Sophia.
4) Got a coupon for $50 off after completing the course. Looked at the other courses and felt it would be tempting for someone with few credits if they were cheaper. I think that was the whole point of the freebie. They priced themselves a bit too high. Overall a very good experience.

Does anyone know how this comes into TESU's BSBA yet? I need literally .5 Gen Ed credits, and I'm hoping I can stick this there, LOL (That, or try to get a waiver, if that's possible)
