Sorry, I didn't see this post before. The title is, "Connected to Distraction: The Effects of Automotive Infotainment Systems on Driving Safety"
Since I work in the field, it seemed a natural. There's also scads of research on the subject.

OP, did you know that one of the options for the TESU Capstone is a Creative Project? It is explained about halfway down this page.

I'm still a slacker and I still want a degree. I understand that those tend to be mutually exclusive, but sometimes they can coexist successfully. Maybe not efficiently, maybe the effort of not following the rules may appear to some as more effort than taking the traditional route. I now have 21 university hours for a total of 132 hours with a 3.426 overall GPA.
What about a competency based degree from NAU? I don't see a capstone for competency based degrees. If they are as liberal as TESU in accepting CLEP, DSST, and transfer credits, then maybe all I'd need to complete a liberal arts degree are foreign language courses. I think it would be nice to have some proficiency in a foreign language.

"The university will accept up to 64 transfer credits from a combination of regionally accredited two-year institutions and the American Council on Education (ACE) Alternative Credit Project."
This sounds like standard university lingo limiting community college level transfer credits but allowing additional hours of upper level courses to be transferred from another 4 year university. They aren't overly generous on CLEP credits and are stingy on DSST credits. It looks like I have about 72 hours at NAU. I might be able to use CLEP, DSST and ACE to increase that to 102 hours. 16 hours of Spanish would get me to 118. There are multiple ifs.
NAU might be a good option for someone to plan for earlier on, before taking a lot of DSSTs intended for TESU.

They're not mutually exclusive at all. About 64% of adults have college credit but only 34% have a bachelor's degree. It's not about accumulating undergraduate credit, it's about plugging the right credit into the distribution required. Look, you could have 200 math credits, but you'd be unqualified to teach math to a 3rd grader. If you want the credential, you have to bite the bullet. 1 paper separates you between today and a degree.

That seems like a lot of extra work when all you would need to graduate from one of the Big 3 is the Cornerstone/ Capstone requirement.
I understand your not wanting to do the TESU Capstone (and since your original post, they have implemented a Cornerstone), but what about doing the Excelsior one?
Excelsior's Capstone seems to consist of three 5-page papers, a PowerPoint, and some class discussion posts.
You seem to meet the depth requirements for a BSLA with depths in History and Literature/ English.
(And for those of us who have trouble with the process of putting words to page, try Google VoiceType on Google Docs).

I have no issues with someone obtaining a degree from the Big 3. Someone as in someone else, not me. I want a degree from a school that has dorms and a sports team. It is a fact that some people don't consider a degree to be real unless it comes from a school with a sports team and dorms. I might even take a miniterm or summer school course at NAU just so I could talk about what campus life was like there. Assuming, of course, that I could complete the degree as easily as I hope. I want to do what I intended to do at TESU. Start with only one course or less to go. It's much easier to start a degree program when you're already done before you start! I completely respect differences of opinion and realize that this is not the path others would choose.
I'm going to contact NAU and find out how they apply the rules.
I sort of feel like for some people, the problem is one subject area. If they can just figure out a way past that obstacle, then they will be okay. I have two obstacles, foreign language and writing a long paper. I'm more motivated to overcome the foreign language obstacle.
I am listening, though. Please tell me more about the Excelsior Capstone. Is it just papers or is it part of an internship? I don't want to have to find an internship and a project to be done at a workplace.

Go Lumberjacks then.
NAU is in a beautiful corner of the world. It isn't on the rez but it's pretty close to it. A lot of people who go there enjoy hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities.
Good luck OP.

Here is the syllabus for the Excelsior Capstone.

It does have a different format from the TESU Capstone.

I don't think anyone here is against the idea, we just don't know of anywhere besides the Big3 where that is possible.
