ACE transcript
#1
Hi Everyone!
Just a few questions about the ACE transcript:
How much does one cost?
Does it include both dsst and cleps?
If you already put in your college code during the test, is it even necessary?

So first, your ACE transcript doesn’t have any courses or tests added to it by default, you have to go to https://www2.acenet.edu/credit/?fuseacti...chCriteria. On that page you have to manually search the organizations and add the specific courses/tests as well as the completion dates for each course/test. Once you’ve done that, you have to wait for each organization to review/approve each course, and then it gets added to your ACE transcript.

When all your courses are approved, you can request to have your ACE transcript sent to your college. The first time you request a transcript, I believe they charge you $20, and any additional transcripts you request in the future are $15 each.

If you already put in your college code, then your DSST and CLEPS will be sent directly to your college—you can still add it to your ACE account if you want, but you don’t have to.

Further to this, does anyone know how to add CLEP to their Ace transcript. I put in a request 6 months ago and they're still on my Ace account as pending.

Same here, and my AP exams as well. I called College Board and their call center staff did not know what the ACE transcript is.

I think you have to pay the college board the transcript fee to be sent to ACE.

For adding CLEP or DSST transcripts to your ACE account, you will have to mail a copy of your test results to ACE. Alternatively you can scan it and email it to them. Now be careful, some colleges will accept only up to 90 credits on one transcript (that includes TESU), so I chosen to not add my CLEP and DSST to ACE at this time.

My suggestion, though it's more expensive and involves an extra step, is to not try and put your CLEP or DSST onto ACE. For whatever reason, CLEP and DSST don't especially like that route and make it harder than the otherwise simple process of electronically adding a course/exam to your transcript. al2010's point is valid, keeping these separate is good. Furthermore, if you apply anywhere outside the big 3, your perfectly good CLEP credit may encounter a roadblock appearing on an ACE transcript. I'm pretty sure that this will completely confuse the registrar at a traditional college. Best bet- keep CLEP and DSST on original transcripts, and keep ACE on ACE.

I think I will keep them separate- my registrar (not one of the big 3) is already confused because I am taking these tests in high school. Apparently, they haven't seen that before???
Also, for AP tests, is just putting your college code down when you take it good enough? If I can, I am trying to avoid any "outside" transcripts.
Thanks for your help!

Yes it is, if you put the college codes you do not need to send additional transcripts. I agree that most schools other than the Big 3, WGU, Patten etc. would be more receptive to College Board transcripts vs. ACE.
In my case, however, I took the AP exams between 2010 and 2013 before I was looking at the Big 3. The fee for an AP transcript is $15, plus an additional $25 if your last exam was 4+ years ago. According to the person I spoke to on the phone, since my last exam was 2013 I do not need to pay the extra fee.
