AngelaP Wrote:Also, copy and paste your milestones into a document. Your final ID Milestone will pull from correct answers from previous Milestones.

But you don't know which questions are right/wrong? Am I missing something?

Oh wait- you're saying it doesn't matter if you KNOW they are right/wrong, because if they APPEAR on the final ID Milestone that they were correct by default? Is that right?

Good point. I was thinking about that as well. I think if you miss some you would have to go back and try to recheck them all just in case? I know I was iffy on the ones that have several categories under them and by each one you have to say likely, not likely, most likely or something like that. I was unsure of all of those. (I am taking Art History.) I guess you would have plenty of time to recheck. Unfortunately, I did not copy and paste it and now it is locked and I can't get back in. I will do that moving forward. I have only completed one. I also decided to copy and paste (and print) the key terms to have beside me moving forward so I am not sorting through videos for them. At least until I really learn them. It is a lot of material - I had 12 pages of terms, double spaced and 11 font. Oh and I just figured out that when you watch the videos by the questions you get a lot of repeats but if you go to the ones organized under "study guide" it is a lot easier to navigate, for me anyway. You may have already figured that out?? All and all, I like it and might do another one even if I have to pay.

I just finished the Project Managment course, it took me 11 days. Really enjoyed the format, my biggest complaint is what some others have mentioned. The fill in the blank questions are hard to answer correctly, especially once you get questions with 3 blanks. You may get 2 right and one wrong and the whole question is marked wrong. The answers can be so subjective. For instance I tried to answer a question where the answer was "project scope" but because I only wrote scope I got it wrong.

I did receive a coupon code for $100 off, and I'm considering utilizing it for another course because I really enjoyed the format. The email says it is for the first 100 users, the code is "FIRST100" for those interested

Hi ,

I recently found that TESC want be accepting Sophia Learning course any more, the deadline is by 4/30/2016. here is the email from the Advising department

Good afternoon and thank you for contacting Thomas Edison State College's Office of Academic Advising. In regard to your inquiry,

Conflict Resolution (SOPH-0007) through SOPHIA Learning will transfer in as Conflict Resolution (SOC-434). Please submit the appropriate ACE transcript no later than 04/30/2016 as we wil no longer accept credit for this exam past this indicated deadline. I have planned and approved this option. Please review your updated academic evaluation online at your earliest convenience.

Moving forward, please bear in mind that students enrolled in the Per Credit Tuition Plan are required to satisfy 24 credit hours with Thomas Edison State College in order to meet the residency requirement for graduation eligibility. You currently have 15 credit hours that may be applied towards this requirement. You must take 9 additional credit hours with TESC in order to meet this requirement.

Should you have additional questions, please create a new ticket by sending an email to academicadvising@tesc.edu with your degree program in the subject line. Thank you.

We hope you take a few moments to take our short survey about this support experience.

Jackmove,

If you don't mind me asking, what degree are you seeking and where is this course being used?

Thank you for sharing this information. I actually expected these changes to begin with the new calendar year (7/1/2015). At least they are allowing a decent timeframe to use previously approved alternate credit methods. Wondering what other vendors are on the chopping block? There are a few more I won't be shocked to learn about. It is now obvious being ACE approved is no longer the only criteria TESC will use to accept outside sources.

Conflict resolution will go into my area of study for my BA in Social Science. I'm sad to c it go because I actually like Sophia Learning format and will be taking project management for a business degree at tesc as soon as I complete my BA in Social Science in July.

There is absolutely no reason to panic. TESC won't accept the Sophia Learning course past that date because the ACE approval for that course and some others expires on that date. That is it. If their ACE approval is renewed, then they will continue to be accepted. You can look for yourself on the ACE National Guide.

Good for you! The BSBA is a nice complement to the Social Science degree. ;-)

I wonder if they would also approve this course for certain BSBA's as well? It seems as though it would be a good fit; similar to conflict negotiations.

bric,

I thought someone mentioned earlier in this thread that KayV had mentioned Conflict Resolution will transfer in as COM-435 in the management area of study. I would love to have a definite answer on this.
