This is it - totally! Also a huge part of why it's good to learn from people with real world experience versus just book smarts.

I think things are a little different in the social sciences. One of the main purposes of the social sciences is to dispel myths. Humans have many misconceptions when it comes to other humans and other groups of humans. This is why we have stereotypes, urban legends, myths, and prejudice. Actually, I think this is true of any scientific field of study. Humans have long believed myths when it comes to how the world and universe work and how to treat ailments.
Of course, I've mostly worked in the criminal justice field. Police officers are just flat out wrong most of the time when it comes to deciding how to best police a community and interact with consumers of their services. It usually takes officers decades of experience to learn what could have been learned in a classroom in a few months.

This is all relative. Even what we know as scientific fact in the observable world, is mere fiction on the quantum level.

Food for though, who consumes the services of police? Your average citizen, or perp?

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Average citizens are usually referred to as consumers. Some departments more specifically apply the term to the mentally ill. They might have done something wrong, but they are really just in need of mental health services. There are police officers in Texas who go through training for the mental health officer certification.

Did you just link us to some radical, unaccredited school? Are you trying to fight left-wing radicalism with right-wing radicalism?

Really? Like a quarter of your posts are complaints about liberals in higher education and colleges not teaching common sense even though people don't go to college to learn common sense. Common sense is just that -- common. I don't even spend 10% of my time on this forum or any forum complaining about people's ideological beliefs.
