A list of grad schools that have accepted graduates of the Big 3.

The big 3 group are all regionally accredited, there is no reason any grad school would blatantly deny admission unless the school had a policy that disallowed distance learning or some other format. Admission is based on the candidate's application- did they meet the GPA, did they take the right courses, have they met the prereqs, is their work experience on par with what is expected of the applicant pool, does the candidate demonstrate leadership (or humanitarianism, creativity, or whatever that field looks for...) and how are their letters of rec, what scores did they receive on their admissions exams? These are all parts of the big picture. A person who is denied admission, in my opinion, probably lacks what the school is LOOKING FOR in a candidate rather than where they attended.

I've applied and been accepted unconditionally into each of these grad programs (except Canisius, I had to petition and ask for a waiver since I was not a Registered Dietitian) as well as an accelerated (second bachelor) BSN:

It was discussed so I figure I'll make a topic on this. A lot of people have gone on from the Big 3 and entered graduate school. As people post, I'll do my best to update this initial post with the list. (I am one of the people who did get into grad school and thus my time is a bit limited but I'll do my best here).


Wake Forest University MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling - TESC BA in Liberal Studies with focus on Psychology.

To avoid misinforming members, a big distinction we need to make is not necessarily the university that accepted the degree, but the specific school in the University. For example, Big Ivy U might accept TESC for a liberal arts program, but may thumb their nose at it for a Business program (especially if it is an AACSB school).

If we tell lurkers that a university accepted a TESC/COSC/EC student, although truthful, it may lead applicants in thinking they can CLEP a degree and get into any program they want. Although not impossible, it is highly unlikely, especially for competitive programs.

Concordia University - Portland accepted me without blinking one bit. And now I'm off to a Doctoral program which I start on Monday... (Monday? errm... I guess I better get cracking)....

It is often disallowed completely by policy. Of course, it's pretty much impossible for the school to know, but concurrent enrollment is often against university policy.

i just finished my first semester in the Masters of Occupational Therapy program at CSUDH. This is a very competitive program that accepts between 10 and 15 percent of applicants based primarily on GPA and GRE. Rubric based admission programs are not able to distinguish easily between the big three and any other regionally acredited undergraduate program. Because rubrics focus strictly on numbers and not the institution generating those numbers, the CSU system is mostly blind to the school you went to. I was not asked about my degree at my interview and it never came up in any other conversation with the department staff. As a bonus, a few of my prerequisites for the MSOT program were actually ECE exams and not actual courses, but the way Excelsior transcripts their credit by exam program it looks like you took a course. So, put the California State University system on the list that has accepted a big three graduate. I do not know if the same can be said of the UC system, I doubt it though.

One caveat, I earned a second bachelors from Excelsior because my first from TESC had no GPA attached to it. Getting into competitive programs that highly value a GPA will be very difficult with a GPA free degree from TESC

My transcript shows a 4.0 GPA, but that is only for the two courses I took with TESC (one of which was the capstone). I don't know if that will be suspect or not.

It won't be suspect, but admissions will look at it exactly the way it is - two courses.
