New WGU MS in Management and Leadership
#21
I've thought of a good idea of what a leadership degree would look like if it were in criminal justice.

white collar crime
victimless crime
transnational crime
sex crimes
hate crime
war crimes
crimes against humanity
crime in the correctional setting
cyber crime
thought crimes
property crime
organized crime
crimes against morality
crimes against persons

WGU is offering a $2,000 scholarship for this program. I can't post a link right now.

Unfortunately, I don't qualify for it. The Scholarship, like the program, is only available for new students.

M.S. Management and Leadership Scholarship | WGU Scholarships

Its $2000 total, so $500/per 6 month semester

Publius....man you can't catch a break! I don't understand why WGU penalizes returning students the way they do....I'm embarrassed by how they have treated you. Doesn't make any sense.
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

It's definitely been a rough return. I'm enduring it, because I know that once I get past the re-enrollment bull, everything will be ok.....except for all the writing I'll have to do :willynilly:

And now they've said I don't qualify for full financial aid because I'm still considered an undergrad for this award year......jeezus...

I think you might run into that anywhere. The new award year starts July 1st, IIRC.

Ok, they got this part fixed. I had selected an incorrect option on my FAFSA, and it had only given me enough financial aid to cover tuition. After calling several times, the problem was fixed.

I'm still upset that the first email was incorrect when it said I couldn't get full graduate level aid because I was an undergrad when this year started.

When do you start. Let me know how you like their program. I won't be finished with my BS until July but I'm definitely window shopping for a Masters Program.

I'm thinking the leadership and management might actually work for me. I do not think an MBA is extremely helpful for my purposes unless I was positive that I want to work in in a corporation or firm that specializes in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, or bankruptcy, where an MBA could be very valuable. In my view, a leadership and management degree is enough to obtain a higher level paralegal manager job such as at a larger firm or for a legal department. Hmmmm.
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

Road traveled: AA (2013) > BS (2014) > MS (2016) > Doctorate (2024)
