Using FAFSA to pay for exams/other fees?

Is there any one who used FAFSA to pay for expenses such as the exam fees? I know FAFSA does not support exams and requires at least half time (6 credits from an accredited school) to be eligible for the student loans. I was wondering about how much do they allow in financial aid per since it will be just 6 credits from COSC for example

If you only attend half-time, then you will only get half of the award. Are you receiving grants, loans, or grants and loans? If you have leftover financial aid, then that money is yours to use for other educational expenses.

I used The Pell Grant and the California Board of Gov. waiver. The Bog paid for the tuitions so I was able to use the Pell for books, Dsst, and Cleps. In fact, I also used $2200 toward TESC enrollment. If you qualify then use it up!. Also, as Sanatone said, you will only get proportional award if you attend less than full time. Good Luck.

I used the FA refund to pay for my final three credit course - Liberal Arts Capstone. Before, they just took out what they needed from the FA award, and sent me the rest. It was a very nice check. ;-)

It was a very nice check. ;-)Yup, they send you the extra, so you could pay for tests, books, etc. Just pay attention as to when you get awarded the money, and when they actually send out the check for any extra (it'll be well into the term the money's paying for).
