If so, how did you prepare for it?
Has anyone taken the Technical Writing DSST?

I used this exclusively Technical Writing DSST Study Guide - Free-Clep-Prep.com
Know the terms...work through some of the web links, this one isn't all that difficult. I recall some pick the best sentence questions, had to build some paragraphs, know what an "abstract" is and when/how its used. I didn't really take all that many exams, but this was probably the easiest that I encountered (though at the time I took it I was writing technical reports all the time so YMMV).

I used the handbook of technical writing seventh addition. you can get it used from Amazon for $4.00 including shipping. For me it helped fine tune my knowledge i got a 64 so with my prior knowledge and some brush up on grammar I was good.

Dantes is just a different name for DSST. DDST Stands for Dantes something Stanardized Testing they often confuse people because they get called by both names.

Hi LadyGrace93!
Yes, we have taken (and passed the Technical Writing DSST - just last week, actually! We reviewed the specific exam feedback forum, we watched a couple online videos, took a practice test from dantestestprep.com, and took two of the three Peterson's practice tests. As somebody has already said, we found that there was quite a bit of common sense for that test. We posted on the specific exam feedback forum (so there's more info there - http://www.degreeforum.net/specific-exam...sst-9.html). We definitely suggest reading over the specific exam feedback forum!! One of us got a 62, and the other got a 54. Hope that helps you!
