I recently received credit for my Aleks statistics using my ACE transcript.
Your admissions counselor has only been on the job since May 2013. Excelsior is going to kill their reputation with these inexperienced counselors giving bad advise. I have one of these new folks as well. Unfortunately, she doesn't realize how clueless she is.
If you run into problems, I can send you a copy of my latest MAP showing credit for Aleks. I will just send the page with the ALEKS credit minus my personal information.

They should all be trained on the basics like ACE. How does he not know what ACE is?

The American Council on Education College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT), or National College Credit Recommendation Service (National CCRS), formerly known as National PONSI. Some credit transfer time limitations apply.

The only thing I see that might be a problem is the fact that you are speaking with the Business and Technology College at Excelsior. When I applied through them, most of my credits were useless. I had to enroll in the BS in Liberal Studies to get the flexibility I have now.
If you are still in doubt, I would call the college and speak to a senior adviser that has been on the job longer than a few months.
