Where you respond with a quote from someone else and plug in your thoughts, separately from theirs? I see it all the time, but tried it earlier and it was a mess. You would think with 1400+ posts I would know this.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Click reply with quote. If I understand you correctly, you mean to "break up" the other poster's quote. In that case, put [/QUOTE] at the end of the first quote, and put the username Wrote:in front of the second part like what I've done here.

I'm too lazy to type out the username each time. LOL. The quote and username automatically comes up when you click "Reply With Quote."
When I break up other quotes, I just type [/quote] at the end and [quote] at the beginning. It doesn't need to be in all caps. I had to edit my post a few times so that it wouldn't quote anything.

I'm really just joking... In fact, it took me forever to figure that out as well.

I have over 1700 post and never figured all of that out. I only recently got the reply with quote idea to quote the whole post.
I used to be very computer literate. Now as I get older and things change faster I find I can't and don't even want to keep up. It really makes me feel old to say I have never tweeted and don't even know how.
I do however have both a Facebook and a linked in account I even check them about once a month or so.hilarious
I just don't understand how people have time to post on all of these things

lol, I'm 18 and I don't tweet or even have a twitter account.
You hit the nail on the head with your last statement... It has nothing to do with age or getting old, it's a decision on how you want to spend your time... priorities.

I didn't know how to do it either! LOL
I almost always "reply with quote" just so the thread is organized and people can follow who is talking about what.
Back in the day..... before that nifty button, I remember doing this:
<< then copy paste the quote, then type >> again. In fact, my early posts here are likely all written that way lol!

Also, after you hit Reply or Reply with Quote, if look up in the top right hand, they have a little speech bubble at the end of the edit text line. It simply wraps the selected text with quote tags. That allows you to do this very easily:
Quote:Where you respond with a quote
My response
Quote:from someone else and plug in your thoughts
My response
Quote:separately from theirs?
My response
Quote:I see it all the time, but tried it earlier and it was a mess. You would think with 1400+ posts I would know this.
My response
