I started a thread about it in the military section. The Defense Ammunition Center has DL courses that are accredited through ACE. They are free to military.

I contacted TESC yeaterday and received a response this morning that stated.

None of the courses you sent are in our database yet so I had to ask the Associate Dean to review them and suggest course numbers. Consequently, my response to you could be delayed a couple of days. Thank you for your patience.

As usual the support staff at TESC is polite and try to be as fast as possible with correct information. I will update again when I get the next reply.

I am so happy to find this thread. Cannot wait to see how TESC takes these credits. I have a couple of kids in need of credits and this just might work. Thanks for starting this thread sanatone. Wink

I need 3 more credits and this may save my skin, friend.

Just to preface, I'm an 15 IT Professional. I just finished - Information Security Basics (AWR-173-W) 97% and Information Security for Everyone (AWR-175-W) with a 92% and received my certs for it a few seconds later. Going to gobble up the rest now. I love you thread creator. If your ever in Chicago, beer is on me.

Worst case, it'll get added to my resume. Best case, it'll save me $500 bucks.

So I stared taking these classes. Passed the first one (everyone) during the pre qualifying. Woohoo. Then I moved on to the ethics one. Ughh. That was a lot harder. Passed 3 out of 6. So I had to go back and read through the info for the ones I didn't pass. Took a lot more time than I anticipated. But I finally passed. One more to go in the first set. There are three sets each continuing 3 or 4 certs each. Pass all in each set and that is what counts as hopefully 2 credits in something at your college for a total of 6, I really would love to get 6 credits. I will continue on finishing these in the next week or more depending on how I do. I'll keep everyone posted. And still can't wait to hear TESCs response to Kujo.

To anyone who is having trouble with the technical aspects of these, there's an excellent series of FREE videos for computer security available here:

Professor Messer's Free CompTIA SY0-301 Security+ Training Course | Professor Messer - CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux, Microsoft Technology Training

Sanantone brought up that these would be good for preparing for the Network+ and Security+ certifications, and yep, he's right. The material meshes nicely some of the Security+ basics.
Some of basic material can also be found in Professor Messer's A+ prep course:

Professor Messer's Free 220-70x CompTIA A+ Training Course | Professor Messer - CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux, Microsoft Technology Training

Finished 5 out of 10 of the courses. Not too bad. Maybe I'll be done by the weekend. It's very interesting.
