ALEKS Statistics

Can anyone please tell me whether TESC accepts credits awarded by ALEKS in Introduction to Statistics, Business Statistics or Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences? I need 3 more natural science credits and I am not sure how well I would do taking the DSST Race to Save the Planet or Principles of Statistics exam using the IC flashcard. I did not pass the Astronomy exam but did recently pass Here's to your Health.

TESC does accept Introduction to Statistics, and I am pretty sure they also take Business Statistics, but I think those two may overlap (don't quote me on that, though; just sounds vaguely familiar). I'm not sure if they take Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences -- someone else will have to answer that. In case you do decide to go with the Environment & Humanity DSST, I will tell you that it is one of the easiest exam out there (easier than Astronomy, if you are looking for a comparison in difficulty), and that I passed E&H with only 2 days of studying.

I used the following materials to study:

1. A wonderful document from the Specific Feedback section. I probably could have passed this test by simply reading over this once or twice. If you have a current InstantCert subscription, definitely take advantage of this document!

2. The Wise Owl Guide to DSST Environment & Humanity. This was another very helpful resource. It had a great glossary (very important to me: that is what I usually review on my way to the testing center on the day of the exam), a good amount of information on the test (without going into unnecessary detail), and a full-length practice test that was relatively similar to the exam.

3. The DSST practice tests from Prometric. This gave me a good feel for how the computer screen would look on testing day (this was my first DSST) and had questions extremely similar, if not identical, to the actual exam. There are two 50-question practice tests available, and each is $5.00.

4. Two sections of InstantCert's flashcards.

5. I used this free 50-question practice test. It helped me judge what areas I needed to improve on and the study guide, although I did not use it, looks good, too. http://www.dantestestprep.com/free-study...e-Test.pdf

Okay -- the easiest way to find it is to go to the main page of this forum (make sure you are logged in first). There will be 5 categories ("General Education and Testing Discussion," "Excelsior, Thomas Edison, & Charter Oak Specific Discussion," "Military Discussion," "Off Topic," and "Specific Exam Feedback - InstantCert Subscribers ONLY"). Choose the last category ("Specific Exam Feedback - InstantCert Subscribers ONLY"). Then, scroll through until you find the thread entitled "Environment and Humanity DSST" (or something like that -- you can also use the search feature in the specific feedback section to locate this thread). I think the post on that thread that contains the document was post #55; can't remember the user's name exactly (though I do think it started with a "S" ). Sorry I can't be of more help here -- my IC subscription recently expired, so I can't get into that forum.

Glad it was helpful! No, I did not did not review all of the available sections, I only did 2. However, I think I remember doing those sections till I could get all the questions in each of them right, if that makes sense. I probably would have done more, but I was on a time crunch and didn't have the time. Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.
