I have searched DSST and CLEP sites but have not been able to find any testing locations.
Does anyone have any ideas?

No such luck. I'm pretty sure in Mainland China and Taiwan there are a total of zero test centers. Perhaps if you find a place, you can convince them to host CLEPS, it's not too difficult to become a center. I live in shanghai, and had to fly out to do my exams in Manila, Philippines. You can write DSST in Hong Kong, but it's actually quite expensive and they're paper only tests (absolute worst system). At least flights are cheaper for you.
If I were you, for CLEP I'd prepare 4-5 at a time and write them in Manila (Fulbright, I can give you their e-mail) over 2 days. It sucks but that's the best option. For DSST you can always go to Korea, Japan, Thailand, or Vietnam (not in philippines for some reason). So, write your tests, then get drunk on san miguel to celebrate...that's what I did.
***Edit
If you're not already familiar, Cebu Pacific Air has DIRT CHEAP flights to Philippines. I recommend them.

I'm actually taking CLEPs at Fullbright this week. I too was surprised about unavailability of DSST in the PI.
Where did you take your DSSTs? Any insight would be helpful as it looks like I'll want/need to take some.
Incidentally, I believe based on my preliminary research that you can take DSST in Singapore as well.

They're great, say hello to the nice people there are Fulbright for me. It's shocking to find such a peaceful place in the middle of downtown Manila. I just wish they'd let me write like 6 exams in a day
I took my DSSTs in HK, and I don't recommend it. The paper tests have so much red tape, and I ended up having a huge issue with the transcript (after the 3-4 months it took to be evaluated), also their testing fee is extremely high. I noticed Hanoi has a DSST testing center. From my personal experience I recommend you stay away from paper-based DSST, it was a nightmare. Also, should be a few centers in Seoul and Tokyo.
Happy testing

You should totally convince a testing center to do CLEP.
You guys amaze me, traveling so far to accomplish your goals. My testing center is like a 14 mile drive away, I have it easy cakes compared to you guys.

I feel distances in asia are shorter. I usually travel abroad at least 3 times a year, usually for over 2 weeks. In the last few years I've been on about 40 airplanes, I think prior to coming here I'd been on 4 in my life.
Philippines isn't so bad from shanghai, heh. Makes your degree completion seem like a REAL journey

Hi guys,
I'm in Malaysia and had been searching for a CLEP/DSST test center without luck. The nearest DSST test center is in Singapore (USEIC) and they are paper based exams, proctoring fee is SGD107 + SGD100 courier + USD80 exam fees for about USD240 per paper! Now that is excluding return airfare and lodging if staying overnight. This is a very pricey option, further more the result won't be known in a month.
Are there any computer based DSST test centers in Southeast Asia that anyone is aware of?
For CLEP exams, Manila may be an option for me, though I still have to fly 1500 miles. I hope the fees aren't too expensive like what the center in Singapore charges. Someone mentioned Vietnam and Thailand, I've wrote to Webster's University in Bangkok and IIEF in Indonesia but haven't heard back. Does anyone have any information on these test centers?

Between the higher testing costs, and travel costs, it may not be worth it. Unless you can find a way to bring it down a bit by taking 2-3 tests each time you fly out.
I'd suggest looking into Straighterline. All their stuff can be done online and it's ACE approved (of course check w/ your college before signing up). It's just a thought. A link is Online Courses - Distance Learning Courses - Online Classes for College Credit - StraighterLine

I remember there was a testing center in kuala lumpur, but I could be wrong. Philippines would be the best option for you otherwise. You're quite lucky, you've got AirAsia!! Dirt cheap flights to philippines from where you are, just book in advance, make a holiday out of it.
Here's the info for that DSST center, good luck with it.
