It is not deserved but I have seen a lot of people complain about and make fun of UOP degrees. They often think that they are "online degrees" which is strange because most of the people I know who went to UOP attended the brick and mortar locations.

What is funny about UOP is that everyone does make fun of them. But I have several college guides that list every member of their faculty and lists their degrees and schools. You would be surprised at how many faculty memebers have undergrads from UOP or one of the big three.

Just in case anyone's still wondering about the fast Master's degree, CSU-Global has several master's programs which reportedly can be finished in less than twelve months. Also, Ashford U's graduate programs run in six week terms, and I believe you can petition to take two classes at once - which would take roughly 9 - 10 months to complete 36 credits (I thinK?). If you have a bit more $ at your disposal, and care about college reputation or whatever, Norwich University offers 18 month grad programs, and Webster U has alot of grad programs, which can be completed at an accelerated rate as well (12-15 months?).
Good luck!

I have to mention Morningside's MA in Teaching, 18 credits can be taken via VESi with the remainder offered via distance...One could do the whole thing relatively leisurely in 3 semesters for around $5000. If anything goes wrong with WNMU I plan to switch to Morningside. Cheap and fast. They allow 6 hours of transfer as well.

This is not super fast; but, if everything goes to plan, I will finish my master's degree in 18 months attending Spring 2012, Summer 2012, Fall 2012, and Spring 2013. The whole program is less than $11,000 and, so far, I haven't had to pay for books.

I know it's not "fast", but for what its worth if you can take a full course load for two years the master's degrees at AMU/APU run $11,700 total tuition, $325/credit. They have a lot of grad degrees and the 1-year grad certificates run about $5-6K. They have several MEd degrees with concentrations.

I am going through a Webster University satellite campus. The courses are nine weeks a piece and I am going full-time which is two classes at a time. Doing two classes at a time allows you to finish in 15 months. I was told by an academic advisor that 85% of all their graduate students do two classes at a time.

I'm attending Angelo State University's Master of Security Studies program with a concentration in Regional Studies. I'm only in my first two courses, so I don't know if this trend of not needing to buy a textbook will continue. One course has a free e-book and the other uses readings that are available online on government websites, research institute websites, websites that offer e-books of old philosophy writings, and the school's library. The tuition is cheap for me because I'm a Texas resident. I always advise people to look for online programs in their state first for the cheapest tuition. Angelo State University is also developing an online doctoral program in security studies which could be up and running soon after I graduate if all goes to plan. Otherwise, I'll try the Naval Postgraduate School's 2-year PhD program if I finish with a high GPA. The government pays people to go to school there and has a federal job lined up for them after graduation.
