Straighterline transcript question

They do not transcribe as a grade, only credit.

This is how it appears on my TESC unofficial transcript available online.

This is how it is listed on my academic evaluation:

In other words:

I am considering TESC's accelerated BSN program. They say Math/Science prerequisites must have letter grades, not show pass/fail. Would Straighterline work?

Thanks so much in advance,
Rob

Rob, where does it say they have to be graded for that degree? I only spent a few minutes, but I didn't see that stipulation??

Jennifer: I'm not sure if we're on the same track (I hope not at least!). I'm not asking how a Straighterline course would appear on a TESC transcript. I'm asking if Straighterline sends a letter grade or a pass/fail transcript to TESC. Again, I'm wanting to get into their accelerated BSN, but TESC requires science prerequists to be letter graded, not pass/fail. So I'm wondering if Straighterline transcripts would arrive at TESC in letter grade format or pass/fail?? Was this what you were addressing?
Thanks again,
Rob

Rob, this is worth checking further. For starters, this is a new program, so it's entirely possible that TESC has a new "graded credit" policy for this degree, but know that they don't have that policy for ANY of their other degrees and I couldn't find the specifics of graded credit prereqs, so it might be best to simply call TESC for more info about how they'll take SL classes for this.
I did misunderstand your use of the credit at first, but I understand your question now, and the answer is "I don't know." I don't think any of us here know since you'd have to somehow see the transaction between SL and TESC, and I don't know how we'd do that. I believe, that since the arrangement so far has been pass/fail, that they likely confirm a passing grade and that's it. Even if you don't get a pass/fail, it might appear as a percentage...but I highly doubt it would appear as a grade. The reason is that SL isn't a college, so I can't see how that could work any way other than percentage or pass/fail. Afterall, SL doesn't issue grades, so who would "award" this grade if not the receiving school?

In any event, I strongly considered several similar programs- in fact, I almost started one (yikes!) last year. These 2nd degree BSN degrees are really really taking off. Id love to know how it goes for you and your experiences with the admissions process.

FWIW, if you need graded sciences, you could go through Ocean where I took mine. All the sciences with labs are online except for organic. Ocean County College

Thomas Edison State College | Accelerated 2nd Degree BSN Program Requirements
All general education and nursing prerequisite credits must be completed prior to admission to the program. All science prerequisites must have been taken within five years of the time of application and reflect a B grade for each course.
