Received Evaluation Finally! Advice on What to Take and Where Courses Placed?
#1
Hi Everyone,

I finally received my evaluation! (TESC Liberal Studies). Please take a look and let me know what you think as far as recommendations of courses to take and/or placement of the courses below.

I have since taken the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP which should satisfy the remainder of the Humanities. I have also taken the US History I CLEP which can be plugged in where Roman History is, then that class can be moved he UL section.

I plan to contact TESC tomorrow or next week with some questions. I guess my concerns are can the placement be better of where they put everything. I see 5 credits needed in General Electives and 1 credit in Liberal Studies. In Free Electives I see a course coded as UL. Can this be moved up to satisfy that requirement? I'd much rather take less UL courses or tests of course. Also, if some of the Free Electives could satisfy General Electives instead I could have more flexibility of what I need to finish.

Any opinions welcomed!

You don't have to "move" roman History. Typically a given course can satisfy more than one requirement. So, Roman history can be both an UL credit and a valid history credit. Rather or not that can be used to satisfy major requirements in your chosen discipline might be another story.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Have you run your own what-if scenario on other majors like a BSAST? Just wondering because you have a lot of electronics and engineering credits in there. How about a Natural Science degree? I just think its worthwhile running some evaluations and saving them off in a text file so you can mull them over. Your career may be better served with a more focused degree. And you might learn something useful in the process.
If you don't know how to do it, go into TESC student services and click on the degree evaluation link and select one from the drop down. Its fun!

Thanks, I guess I will need to ask them to clarify this.

Thanks ryoder. I did see where the courses would apply via the online tool. It didn't look that good though due to the C- and D grades not being applied toward certain requirements in Science, Technology, etc. I don't work in Computers/Engineering so it doesn't matter as much getting something more specialized.
