Easiest Path for BS/BA - Advice Appreciated
#1
Hello All!

I'd greatly appreciate some help and advice regarding which of the "Big Three" schools would provide me with the easiest path to a BA or BS degree. I recieved my AA degree in 1991 from USNY - Regents College (now Excelsior) by applying all the credits I accumulated over an on/off 10 year period from a local community college.

I did some research this past year, discovered your site, and decided to attempt with the help of a variety of study aids - IC, textbooks, REA guides, Peterson's, the great test help here on the forum, etc. to CLEP one test just to see if I could do it. I managed to survive and pass Introductory Psychology and just recently passed Human Growth and Development with thoughts of going for the full 9 lower level Psych. credits by taking Introduction to Educational Psych. as well.

I'm most familiar with the Excelsior set-up for a BSLS and its required 2 depths of concentration - but it seemed like quite a monumental undertaking to accumulate the credits I'd need for my degree (don't even mention the word M-A-T-H....:ackSmile. If I'm missing an easier way I really like to know. Most of my credits are reeeeeeally old - I don't know if some of them would even be accepted at this point. My background is strictly Liberal Arts - no business, etc. so I don't know what subjects I would even consider attempting....

Here's a list of my credits - As I've said, any advice/guidance would be GREATLY appreciated!Smile

Hi!

Your old credits should be accepted. Here is the policy at EC:

Time Limit on transfer credits - excelsior.edu

Don't worry; it looks like you are done with math, if you want to be.

If you like the subjects, consider psychology and history for depths. They have exam options.

Also be aware that some policies have changed. The biggest changes are Freshman English (6 credits), Info Lit, and Capstone course.

Also, check out the other 2 schools, which have different pros and cons.
AS in 2010 and BS in 2013 at Excelsior College - Transcripts and Costs
MS Biostatistics in 2019 at Texas A&M University - Graduate School

Sharing Credit-by-Exam*
Resources Used - 20+ Exams Passed & General GRE
Practice Tests - Available for CLEP and DSST
