History of the US 2 CLEP Help
#1
I have been studying IC, Hippocampus.org videos, and looking up info on wikipedia I don't know that well. I have studied for 100+ hrs already. I read the specific feedback forum and also had people quiz me on the IC questions and other stuff I find online. I've seen posts on this forum warning people that this clep is very hard and I'm wondering what else can I do to prepare so I can pass it? Does anyone have any ideas or any advice on how I can feel more confident and certain that I will pass this?

I just took this test 2 wks ago. If you haven't already, I'd suggest taking some practice tests... particularly the Petersons. If you get above a 60% on that you should be good to go.

Good luck with your exam!

I second that. I never take a test without taking a couple of practice tests. Be aware that your score on a practice test will sometimes be much lower than your score on the real thing. This is because some/most of the practice tests are harder than the real thing. My personal rule of thumb is that if I can get half or more of the practice questions right than I'm comfortable taking the real thing. Good luck!!

I used the Peterson's tests and REA books with practice CD's to prepare. I didn't read the text, just took the tests until I was getting in the 90th percentile. I go over the test explanations very thoroughly; that's where I pick up a lot of information.
It really depends on the score you are trying to achieve and your test comfort level. I don't like surprises so I overstudy. I got a 74, but 50 is passing and since for most schools it's a pass/fail test - 50 is as good as 80.
If you've studied 100+ plus hours it sounds like you are ready to dive in and take the test. IC gives you enough to pass. Go for it!
Good luck.

That's a lot of study time....I second (4th?) the recommendation to try the practice tests and then go take the real test.

I'm right there with you by the way. I'll be taking my US History II test next week. I think I'll have about 30-40 hrs of study time which is about what I did with US History I, the only difference this time is that I've added Sparknotes to my study plan which has added some extra hours.

Good luck with your test!
