Hampton University - withrown - 01-29-2022 For anyone who has been looking at potentially chasing an Ed.D, Hampton University has an executive PHD in Educational Management. This program is structured to be completed in 2 years! I went ahead and applied last week so I'll have answers to my two biggest questions when admissions follows up with me. 1. Does the diploma say "Hampton U Online"? 2. Is the degree officially listed as a "EPHD"? I found this program really attractive due to the 8-week long classes. I really have trouble with normal length courses. Also, having a degree from an HBCU would mean something to me. currently application fee is waived (they give the code on the login screen) RE: Hampton University - ss20ts - 01-29-2022 (01-29-2022, 06:03 PM)withrown Wrote: For anyone who has been looking at potentially chasing an Ed.D, Hampton University has an executive PHD in Educational Management. RE: Hampton University - withrown - 01-29-2022 I mean listed as an "Executive PHD". I currently work in Higher Ed and would potentially like to teach. Whether its warranted or not, colleges/universities look down on "executive" degrees. It would be different if I had a bunch of research out. Executive degrees are generally looked at as less rigorous. RE: Hampton University - bjcheung77 - 01-29-2022 Here's the program details if people are interested, the tuition is also listed: https://home.hamptonu.edu/online/education-management-ph-d/ RE: Hampton University - carrythenothing - 01-29-2022 Since "Hampton U Online" is accredited as part of Hampton University, I think the diploma and transcripts will say Hampton University. The doctoral program approved by SACS is "Educational Management" without any mention of "Executive" or "Online". RE: Hampton University - ss20ts - 07-15-2022 Their online PhD in Business Administration requires 2 summer residencies. Each residency is 4 weeks long. YIKES! You have to do them in year 1 and year 2. The GMAT is required as well. Interesting that the PhD in Educational Management doesn't have either one of these requirements. RE: Hampton University - KSoul - 01-06-2023 Came across this today, and after searching online, this was the first link. Hampton University hit with breach of contract lawsuits Not a great first impression; however, glad it was not about accreditation. Unfortunately, the next 5 links or so were also about lawsuits but who's counting? RE: Hampton University - Sagan - 01-09-2023 Ask the school. But... There is no reason the diploma or transcripts will say anything different unless you're graduating from a particular college separate from the main school. I see a PhD in Education Management, but nothing about it being an "executive" program. Good thing, too, because I've never heard of an "executive" PhD. The post-nominal for such a program would be "PhD." |
