Transfer overage? - a2jc4life - 12-05-2017 For schools (like the big 3) that have generous transfer policies, but cap the number of hours that may be transferred toward a degree, am I correct in assuming that "extra" hours may be transferred in, but simply can't be counted against the degree requirements? For instance, my school says that a maximum of 90 hours may be transferred against bachelors degree requirements. If I have, say, 112 transferable hours, are they likely to transfer them all in, and just require that I complete at least 30 more hours through them? RE: Transfer overage? - clep3705 - 12-05-2017 Different schools may do things differently. It's best to ask a specific school directly. I've seen one school's transcript with excess transfer hours. Certain courses had a notation about no credit being given. It's possible that in the case of excess hours, it might be necessary to say that you want credit for a particular course and not another one. What the transcript evaluator decides to not count might not be what you want. RE: Transfer overage? - a2jc4life - 12-05-2017 Thanks! I feel less stupid about asking this question now. (I was afraid it might be awfully elementary.) I'm ready to transfer all but my last course over, so as soon as I get my updated ACE transcript I'll submit for my pre-eval and see what that looks like. RE: Transfer overage? - clep3705 - 12-06-2017 You should only feel stupid for not asking or not trying. |
