Trying to get GEN ED - Crunyon33 - 11-19-2017

I want to get General education and some specialty classes for credit. In the fields of CJ and fire science on the cheap.

RE: Trying to get GEN ED - Ideas - 11-19-2017

SL has at least one course. There are a couple DSST. There is at least one UExcel.

GenEds are cheap from CLEP (free through Modern States), DSST, SL, Study.com (get the scholarship for 6 free classes), TEEX, TECEP, Davar, and more.

Do the FREE TEEX Cyber courses and NFA Fire ones.

RE: Trying to get GEN ED - sanantone - 11-19-2017

The ACE approval didn't expire on the NFA courses? I'm tool lazy to check.

One has expired.

Two have expired. There's only one available now.

"Fire Service Supervision: Self Study" has expired since I joined this forum :-P

RE: Trying to get GEN ED - Ideas - 11-20-2017

I think that Penn Foster has some Fire Science and CJ. There is not much that's cheaper, just around a dozen credits that are cheaper.

RE: Trying to get GEN ED - sanantone - 11-20-2017

I don't know which school you're attending, but CSU Global offers a lot of CJ CBEs. Propero has CJ courses, but they and Penn Foster are more expensive than CBEs.

RE: Trying to get GEN ED - dfrecore - 11-22-2017

No cheap fire science courses that I know of, but you can almost test out of a CJ degree at TESU using a combination of methods (the usual CLEP/DSST, Study.com, SL, etc.) plus Propero ($299 to $330 per course).

It won't be the cheapest degree on here, but it will certainly cost less than a CJ degree anywhere else.

Oh yeah, there is the Patten CJ degree - it's a BA in Psych, with a concentration in CJ.
