Easiest/cheapest option for computer literacy? - a2jc4life - 09-07-2017 I need 3 credit hours in "information technology." I find this a little silly for an online school, to be honest, since one clearly has to be proficient with a computer to take online classes, but whatever. What's the cheapest/easiest credit option for this? "Information technology competency is defined as the level of computer, electronics, and telecommunications literacy necessary to understand the purpose of information technology....Typically, introductory computer courses or courses stressing the application of computers to a specific industry may be applied in transfer to satisfy the information technology competency requirement" RE: Easiest/cheapest option for computer literacy? - bjcheung77 - 09-07-2017 I highly suggest you take a few courses from Straighterline to get their Partner Pricing or scholarship pricing with Ashford. I think all you need to do is take 4 courses, see this link: http://www.straighterline.com/colleges/ashford-university/ There's also a transfer equivalency link: http://www.straighterline.com/colleges/ashford-university/course-equivalency/ You should take IT Fundamentals, it should transfer fine as it shows in the list or link above. RE: Easiest/cheapest option for computer literacy? - a2jc4life - 09-07-2017 Thank you! I had ruled out SL as more expensive than Study.com, but I forgot that was before I had to rethink my plan to attend Ashford instead of TESU, so the scholarship thing makes a difference. RE: Easiest/cheapest option for computer literacy? - greencouch - 09-07-2017 Can you take the Information Systems CLEP to meet this requirement? Good question. I don't know; given the different terminology used for the title, that one hadn't even come across my radar. I'll have to ask them. |
