Exams to count towards TESC Communications Electives? - scribbler - 08-20-2013

Hi All!

Does anyone know of any other tests that will fulfill Communications Electives for a BA in Communications from TESC?

We have found 5 (maybe 6) tests: Technical Writing (DSST), Intro to News Reporting (TECEP), Marketing Communications (TECEP), Interpersonal Communications (ECE), Business Communications (Saylor), and possibly Public Relations Thought and Practice (TECEP). However, there are 8 courses required in that area, and we are hoping to complete those with exams rather than online courses.

Any other test options or information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What about the DSST for Public Speaking? It's an odd test from what I've heard but would easily fit in the degree. I had courses to bring over for my BA COMM so I didn't complete that exam. To get my missing credit at that point I took Managerial Comm (before the capstone was needed) and also completed a PLA in RTV (Radio/Television). In your case I'd ask the advisor who talks with you to consider the Advertising TECEP. It's a much better fit for the Marketing BSBA but looks like it has a good tie into communications. Make sure any special courses you ask for are put in as "planned" so that a different advisor doesn't change their mind.
