Here's a quick HSLDA position page for anyone considering the option http://www.hslda.org/docs/nche/Issues/C/CharterSchools.asp Without sounding like an infomercial, I'm a huge supporter of HSLDA for a lot of reasons, which I'd go into if asked. For that reason, we wouldn't use a program like this. HSLDA will not provide legal representation to families that do, so that's an easy decision. Also, these kid's test scores...not good. AND, my dear friend Ryoder, you know were friends, but how on earth can you say that? Seriously? Only 5% of the kids in this country are homeschooled, so that's a very tiny group of parents. Are you presuming MANY of THOSE parents are terrible teachers? Based on what? Seriously, and this is going to sound really crass, so forgive me, but 95% of parents send their children away to a building for school. In order to do anything differently involves a HUGE financial sacrifice as well as commitment. People tell me ALL THE TIME they wouldn't want to be around their kids all day. I don't think you're going to see kids leaving school en mass to run home and be homeschooled this way.
