Where should I go? - etsready0612 - 06-20-2010 Hey guys, I'm in the army and I get out in less then two years. I was trying to complete at least an associates degree before I get out. I am currently attending AMU, but I'm not so sure it is the best choice. I don't want to get a degree from here and end up getting screwed when I apply for a normal state universtiy in North Carolina. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. Thanks Where should I go? - Chebasaz - 06-20-2010 i R confused  What are you asking for suggestions on? If you should stay with AMU? If it's working, then yes. AMU's a perfectly good school, so you won't have any problems getting into a state college with an associates from there. AMU's regionally accredited; just like Excelsior, Charter Oaks, Thomas Edison and...... North Carolina State University ![]() If you're asking if you should take a CLEP or two, I'd suggest seeing what AMU's policy is. I "think?" AMU allows a certain amount of CLEP's to be taken, which could speed up your associates by quite a bit. Don't quote me on that. There are a few AMU alumni on the forums, so perhaps one of them will come by and shed some light. If not, just ask your advisor how many credits you can get with CLEP or DSST's. I just want to know if I should stay with AMU or if I should go somewhere else. What school is the most clep dsst friendly? Where should I go? - NAP - 06-25-2010 Sorry for being late getting to this post. I wanted to add: Be careful when transferring from an Associate Degree to a Bachelor's Degree. The school that you earn the Bachelor's Degree from will get to choose all 120 credits you need for the degree not just the second 60 credits. If you use exams to complete your Associate Degree, you will want to be sure that those credits meet the policy at the school you choose for your Bachelor's Degree, too.
