New Upper level Business Dsst - P00057870 - 01-22-2010 Can a moderator please combine this thread with the new thread with postings showing specific exam feedback into that forum -- THANKS! New Upper level Business Dsst - Kelsey - 01-22-2010 This is great news! I was planning on taking the Business in Society TECEP probably this fall and it will be great to save some money and go this route with another DSST! Thanks so much for the info. New Upper level Business Dsst - mlwilliamsiv - 02-01-2010 Just wanted to confirm that I spoke with a Liberal Arts Advisor today and she told me that DSST Business Ethics has been given UPPER LEVEL status now!!! She told me that it will fall under the Humanities category. I totally forgot to ask if that exam will warrant a letter grade or not but my gut tells me just Pass or Fail only. That's all folks!:hurray: From a loyal degree seeker. New Upper level Business Dsst - swisha2k - 02-05-2010 has anyone else taken this exam? New Upper level Business Dsst - jadechow - 02-06-2010 swisha2k Wrote:has anyone else taken this exam? Just took it yesterday and getting ready to post feedback. Here it is: Everything already mentioned in feedback was on my test. Here are some other observations/areas of study: Know Definitions of: "noisy withdrawl" as it relates to lawyers, ergonomics (modifying environment to worker instead of other way around), and what a "grease payment" is in relation to MNCs operating overseas. Also, I did not come across the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act at all during my studies; however it came up 3 times on the test. Same thing with the term "Command and Control" Regulation. Had no idea what it was but it showed up 3 times. Know the primary reason Sabanes Oxley was developed. Lastly, and most frustratingly, there was at least five questions that started out "According to Carroll and Bucholtz......." which was kind of a pain. I mean, not everyone has access to THAT PARTICULAR text from which to study. But, the questions weren't too bad so don't stress it. It was just more aggravating and assumptive then anything. I know it's already been said; however, it bears repeating - lots of questions about Kohlberg (specifically asking what stage is associated with this type of behavior etc.), many questions relating to Utilitarian ethics concepts, and Kantian ethics. To study, I used the Carroll text (interlibrary loan) and took all the quizzes on Chebasaz's free clep prep website. This is the least I've ever studied for a test but I wasn't that worried about it. Overall, I agree with the other posters. For an upper level test, not bad at all. Next to MIS, I'd say it's the easiest UL Dantes I've taken. New Upper level Business Dsst - Ruddigore - 02-06-2010 468! Woo hoo! Great job, Kelly! Three more ULs under your belt. Your bravery for attempting a new exam is much appreciated. *Grin* New Upper level Business Dsst - jadechow - 02-06-2010 Ruddigore Wrote:468! Woo hoo! Great job, Kelly! Keep on spreading that goodwill on the world, Buddy. New Upper level Business Dsst - Chebasaz - 02-06-2010 Congrats Kelly! :hurray: cheersmate We're 3 for 3 on this one and racking up some really great feedback. They need to release some more new UL exams. Who's going to take it next? New Upper level Business Dsst - Sunshine - 02-06-2010 For those who took the exam: great job and thanks for posting excellent feedback!! Marshall, from what you learned from the advisor, am I right in thinking that this exam will fall under UL arts & sciences (humanities) rather than business/professional credit at EC? Thanks! New Upper level Business Dsst - eyrobinson - 02-06-2010 I'll be taking it soon once I get confirmation from my advisor that it fulfils an upper level arts/science requirement. I hope she approves it then I won't have to take either Civil War or Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union. |
