Already called the testing center and told them to put me down for next week. :willynilly:

I plan on hitting everything from the fact sheet. I'll use the recommended materials I can find in the next week. I also have a few management textbooks that go into social responsibility, social contract, etc.

From the looks of the sample questions, there's also a legal aspect to the test. Probably need to bone up on those again as well. I got eight out of the ten on the sample questions, so hopefully that's a sign of things to come.

I'll let everyone know how it goes when it's over.

So I got home tonight and pulled up the fact sheet to start studying. I realized after a few minutes that I have no idea what the passing score is for this thing. They haven't upgraded the credit recommendation sheet yet. I imagine it's 400 like all the refreshed exams - Has anyone found anything to confirm?

I called TESC today to inquire if they'd accept this test as an alternative to the Business in Society TECEP and spoke with Jennifer's favorite, Dr. Keel. He was very pleasant but didn't really have the answer I wanted to hear. :ack: Really, what were the odds of that anyway?

Dr. Keel said that the process to accept a "testing option" for credit is much more intensive than simply getting approval to use a particular class to meet a program requirement. He indicated that decisions like that have to go through a "board approval" process and were not made quickly.

I did submit a request through the Academic Advisement office to see if they'd look at the test or maybe I'll get lucky and they've already had it under review. Will keep you guys posted if I hear anything.

Have a great day,
Kelly

I got approved to take this exam by my advisor at Excelsior. She said that it would meet both the ethics and upper level business requirements.

Outstanding news - This is a viable alternative for the ECE Ethics exam.

Why not do FEMAs instead?

Not sure if there's anyone else currently studying for this one, but I've put up a placeholder page until I get back from taking the thing.

Business Ethics and Society DSST Study Guide - Free-Clep-Prep.com

I've listed all of the resources I've found so far (Under free resources), but if anyone has any more then please let me know. Video lectures are especially welcome.

Seven days and counting.

Got an email today from TESC saying the following:
Hello Kelly.
The answer to your question is yes.
Doris Simmons

Here was my email (most of it) to them: I would like to know if the new Prometric test Business Ethics and Society detailed below can be taken as an alternative to the TECEP Business in Society.

As you can see from the test fact sheet, the same content areas are covered. In fact, this test was prepared using the primary TECEP text, Carroll, Archie and Ann Buchholtz. Business and Society: Ethics and Stakeholder Management. Current edition. Cincinnati: South-Western.

So, it looks like the business majors at TESC have a new option instead of Bus in Society TECEP. Yea!!!
