College Readiness may not translate to most schools but, in this case, I would suggest it. It should be helpful for a thirteen year old kid. Saylor's College Success actually seems to be another solid choice for a slightly older student, though I would only take that one for the free certificate and not for credit.

Thank you. This forum has showed us the way!!!! I am forever grateful. I think we will try College Readiness next and then Environmental Science.

Just FYI College Readiness does not really transfer into another college.  It is supposed to be just a helpful course to start preparing for college.  I would personally skip it and take a different course that would be worth the effort.  Also, several here had problems with the English on Sophia including my daughter.  She finished everything else on Sophia very quickly, but the English was difficult for several reasons.

Great job on the Biology.  He sounds really smart, and maybe just operates better on a deadline.  I have 3 kids taking courses right now to attend TESU.  My sons are on their last course, and my daughter has taken most of the Sophia courses, 27 credits at our local university, and CLEPed 30 credits.  She is trying to graduate @ 19.  I am just letting you know it can be done.  Make sure you get your 24 credits from a regionally accredited college, and your son can attend TESU earlier than 21.  Your son has a wonderful start!
Thank you for the tips and encouraging words! SO nice to see another mom of a teen on here accelerating! (That's the WGU term for what we are doing) He is bright, just lazy. Typical gamer teen. This forum has literally changed my life and I want to do the same for my son, just WAY, WAY earlier! I saw College Readiness limited transferability, but thought it would help him get his head together a bit for school. I could still add it to his HS transcript, if we go that route.

I actually signed him up for CSMLearn anyway. I know that is highly transferable and I personally found it incredibly valuable. I offered to pay for his best friend to take it also, so they can "battle" since thats what they do all day anyway online gaming. Who would you recommend for English courses? Modern States thru CLEP or somebody else? I may end up doing TEL Learning for the RA credits unless there is a cheaper, more teen friendly option out there.

Thanks again! I will search the forum for other golden nuggets you have dropped.
