Im in the process of creating my Degree path. My plan is to apply but not enroll, go through the process, pass the required ALEKS courses, DSST for Technical Communication and MIS for Business of IT - Applications, and probably obtain an A+ Cert to knock out IT Foundations & Applications. If im missing anything else please let me know.

Nice Job deciding on a plan, make sure you get every single credit you can get before enrolling in WGU's program. They don't let you transfer anything else in after you are enrolled.

Thanks for that info by the way. I sent out a detailed email to my advisor recently asking about ace credits for RCBC and was returned with an unfavorable response. Oh well. No big deal.

I would use SL for as much as you can, because they're a direct partner with WGU, meaning no extra cost for transcripts, and you're assured that things will come in.

C++ Programming (for Scripting & Programming - Foundations course)
Take Technical Writing as a DSST if they will take it (there's also a Tech Comm TECEP exam).
Take ALEKS College Algebra & Stats.
For the Critical Thinking & Logic, there's a Critical Reasoning TECEP ($117), Critical Thinking Propero Course ($299) or Intro to Logic AlignDegree course ($399).
I would not take the A+ cert ahead of time, since it's 2 exams and fairly expensive ($205 each). If you think you can't pass immediately, you might buy a book and study in advance, and then take the exams ASAP in the degree program. I would imagine it's going to be fairly quick for you to get through these, so it may be a waste of money to get it outside of the degree.
My husband is also getting an IT degree at WGU, and he's weighing the pros and cons of taking exams within the degree vs outside of it, to try to maximize his time. He wants to get it in a single term if possible. We agreed that A+ is better done inside the degree, unless his company will pay for the exams. He is going to take some exams ahead of time, because his company will pay for them, and he'll get "credit" at his next review for keeping current (he works in IT now, so this is a required component for him every year to get at least 1 cert or take a college course).

Yes, for anywhere actually (TESU/WGU, etc) you want to apply and enroll when you are near the finish line. Send all your transcripts into them and see what they give you. Once you know where you stand, take the appropriate courses to "check off" the requirements and enroll when there aren't any you can take elsewhere.

Applied to WGU, sent in my prior CC / Uni transcripts and spoke to a very charismatic enrollment counselor, which was quite nice. I plan to take the readiness exam they require tomorrow.
I just finished ALEKS College Algebra in 2 days, placed at 75%, directly after the initial assessment. Sent the request for ACE approval just now. I guess I'll start on ALEKS Intro to Stats asap to get that taken care of. I know it's not going to be perfectly smooth sailing along the way through this process, but so far so good, even though im in the infancy of it all. I'm extremely enthusiatic that I get to navigate this process on my own accord, instead of slugging along at the required pace of my local B&M.
To the people that posted in this thread, and the ones that post valuable insight on this forum, I deeply thank you for all of your knowledge along the way. I haven't been this happy in quite some time now, and I'm truly elated about the path im currently paving for myself. I am truly greatful.
