AngelaP, it goes back to my earlier post. CLEP isn't actually pass/fail, it is credit/no credit. If you make below the passing mark, you aren't given an F - you simply don't receive credit for it. Pass/fail affects GPA. Not passing a CLEP or DSST has no adverse academic consequence. We don't want people to get worried about failing a CLEP test. There's no need to wait to see if you passed or not and then pay to have a passing score sent later. Take the test and have the score sent to the school regardless of outcome. You really have nothing to lose, other than perhaps the exam fee. They either give you credit or they don't. It's really that simple.

I'm simply stating what IS on my transcript from COSC and it is a P, how you interpret it is totally up to you. If you go by COSC's website, it doesn't affect your GPA either way.

And if you had failed, you would not have an F, you would have no notation at all. Some schools put P and other schools put CR for passing a CLEP. An F does affect the GPA, but there is no such thing as an F from a CLEP.
