Can you elaborate? If any of the names sound "millish" it would be EC. MISin08 Wrote:Edison is overrated IMHO and the school name sounds millish to me. "Get your degree now!! If any of the names sound "millish" it would be TESC. hilarious Big 3: Nicest Sounding Name? - GoodYellowDogs - 10-15-2010 I really don't like any of them... ... however, when I get mine that says "Excelsior College", I'm going to really like the name a lot!!! cheersmate :willynilly: Big 3: Nicest Sounding Name? - MISin08 - 10-16-2010 blu2blu Wrote:Millish? It has a feel to me like something you might find at the back of a comic book. [All this about names is relatively unimportant in the scheme of things, but TESC between the name and its policy of taking lower-level credit to satisfy upper-level requirements dropped off the list early] The only one that doesn't sound off to me is Charter Oak. I wanted a major, plus EC had enough easily accessible free info to plan my degree without any help from them (and before I found this forum), so they won, weird name, garish website and all. I like their website. Big 3: Nicest Sounding Name? - blu2blu - 10-16-2010 The name Excelsior brings to mind a cheap unaccreddited career college you might find in a strip mall, just my opinion. I think you are referring to a time not so long ago when TESC required 18 200+ credits to obtain a major, this has now been changed to 300+. Lets not forget that they don't accept Civil War and Ethics in America DSSTs as upper level credits regardless of the ACE recommendation. Excelsior does require 30 UL credits but their General Ed requirements are weak and their liberal studies degress allow 60 credits of free electives vs TESC 60 credits of general ed and only 27 free electives. I would say it all balances out and their is no point in fighting about it. A school could be called Billy Joe Bob University as long as it's RA who cares. But I do love a good fight! When I was researching them, TESC was under the old policy. blu2blu Wrote:I would say it all balances out and their is no point in fighting about it.
