  Average Length Of Time Studying???
Posted by: RBOWMAN - 04-12-2006, 03:35 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (15)

As I have now earned 81 credits in seven months, I find myself alittle curious as to how much time on average my fellow students spend preparing for Clep or Dantes testing? I now regret how I overstudied for the first four or five Clep exams only to realize that I could have speeded this process up if I had been alittle more aggressive. At about the sixth or seventh test I realized I could easily pass the tests with 3 days of studying. Any other comments.. I know I was not the only one taking too much time between tests.

  Another calculator question
Posted by: hunter2115 - 04-12-2006, 01:54 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

I'm shopping for a calculator that will serve me well for both the DSST Statistics and the Financial Management exams. It seems kinda hard to get good info about which ones are "legal". Math is not my best subject, so I want a calculator that will give the "most bang for the buck". I note that the Texas Instruments TI-30Xa seems to be a favorite for Stats- I wonder if it would be a good choice for Financial Management as well? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

  Here's The Question....
Posted by: RBOWMAN - 04-12-2006, 09:35 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (2)

Acknowledging the the fact that Iam not anywhere near a science person and have not been anywhere near a science course in over 30 years...what of the two science offerings of biology or natural science would you suggest taking. I only need six credits of this and then onto college math clep and I will be done. So Iam definitely looking for the big quick and easy path to graduation. ideas..opinions and help are gratefully solicited. Thank-you!Cool

  TECEP exam proctoring
Posted by: anar579 - 04-11-2006, 10:36 PM - Forum: [ARCHIVE] Excelsior, Thomas Edison, and Charter Oak Specific Discussion - Replies (15)

Has anyone run into trouble finding a proctor locally for a TECEP exam? If you have been able to obtain one, shoot some suggestions my way. I approached my local public library and they said they don't proctor exams. I'm apprehensive about approaching the local community college, since I'm not a student there. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  Three tests left.....
Posted by: Cold_navy - 04-11-2006, 01:53 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (5)

Ok, I only have three more upper level test left.

Org Behavior - ECE
Ethics - ECE
Civil War - DSST

I heard Excelsior's Org. Behavior and Ethics tests where difficult. Has anyone who has taken either of these test in the last few months have any insight?

Also, How is the DSST "Civil War & Reconstruction" test?

Gonna try and knock them out before June 1st. Is this doable?

Thanks,
Scott

  Dantes Statistics
Posted by: Nodean - 04-11-2006, 01:31 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

I just found out a nursing program I'm interested in requires statistics. I have a minimal math background, elementary algebra 10 years ago. Is it possible for me to tackle this subject using InstantCert? I don't have time to take a traditional class any advice for one with math phobia?

suggestions please on natural science clep
Posted by: RBOWMAN - 04-11-2006, 08:38 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

What study and test prep test materials would you suggest to use in getting ready for this test? I have the passyourclass materials, but is there anything else a nonscience dummy, like me, needs to somehow pass this test. Thanks in advance for your help. And how long will it take for an excellent memorizer take to get ready for this test and how many questions is it?

I'm getting ready to take this test on Thursday. In addition to the study material available here, is there other options available?

Additionally, has anyone else taken this exam that could give me some pointers?

TIA

PriTyan
