The top college in terms of clep and dantes
Posted by: RBOWMAN - 04-20-2006, 10:54 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (28)

I'd be real interested to hear everyone's opinion on cooperation they have rec'd from their college regarding clep and dantes programs. I have always heard that Thomas Edison, Excelsior, and Ohio U. were the best in cooperating and facilitating degree earning in a timely fashion. Thoughts..pros ,cons.. suggestions on pitfalls to avoid?

I noticed several people in the posts say that they were students at TESC. I have been with them for almost a year and they are O.K. I am currently working towards my Bachelors in History. I have seven more Cleps & DSSTs to get my degree.
When I decided to stop taking classes and test out I experienced some frustration with the advising department. I had to call and say OK, how will this one fit in. Then I found what I was looking for.

http://www.tesc.edu/catalog/pdf/catalog.pdf

It lists on page 120 and 121 each test and how they award credit. Why the advisor didn't advise me to look there I will never know. I hope this is useful!Cool

Posted by: snazzlefrag - 04-19-2006, 04:25 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (5)

Hi All,

I am taking DANTES Ethics in America next week and DANTES Human Resource Management the day after tomorrow (on Friday).

I am using Instantcert and DSST Official Guide book to study from.

Does anybody have any tips, tricks, advice, opinion, or feedback on either of these exams?

Thanks for any input you can all provide.

Steve, I'm curious how you (assuming this is mainly your venture) got the idea of starting InstantCert. Did you take a bunch of CLEP tests yourself? Or just see others looking for materials and fulfill a need?

[COLOR="Purple"]Hello,

I am new to the CLEP world and have scheduled myself to take two CLEP tests on May 6, Principles of Marketing and Intro to Business Law. I am hoping I have left enough time for studying. I guess my first step was instantcert.

If anyone has any suggestions on these two exams I would appreciate the help. Smile

Hi...
I had a question about the Principle of Accounting CLEP. Have any of you taken this CLEP exam, and passed? If so, was the instantcert guide on this subject enough to not just pass, but get a decent score onthe exam? If not, what other sources were of help in your studying? I always hear that this is a difficult exam overall, so any answers will be of much help here. Thanks.

Intro to World Religion or Modern Middle East?
Posted by: fondue - 04-18-2006, 07:11 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (1)

AFter many weeks Charter Oak finally completed my evalution. To finish a quick A.S. I need ethics, writiten communications and global understanding. The first two were easy to plan, to satify global understanding I can take Intro to World Religion, Intro to Modern Middle East or a few others such as Rise and Fall of Soveit Union.

Anyone have any insight on which exam is the easiest? Keep in mind my goal is to complete a B.S.

Since it seems I need to bite the bullet and take this course, does anyone have any helpful hints? How exactly does it work- Do I need to wait until the month begins to start (May registration)? Does it take a whole semester to complete, or can it be finished early? Any insights are appreciated!

  CLEP Analyzing & Interpreting Literature
Posted by: wsnoon - 04-18-2006, 10:18 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (9)

Does anyone know what the basic composition of the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP is? Is it mainly poetry as described in the CLEP Study guide and if so, is studying just the poetry section of Humanities good enough preparation for the test?
Thanks.Smile
