Macroeconmics clep - a few questions
Posted by: Back2School - 05-19-2006, 09:28 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

First, how hard is this test? I'm getting barely passing scores with Peterson and have the weekend to study before my test on Monday. The questions from InstantCert seem quite a bit different and it's tough to know my exact score because of how easy it is to substitute words. But I think I'm getting at least 2/3rds of the questions correct.

Second question: can you bring a calculator to do some of the basic math required for the formulas? It's easy math of course but I'd like to save the time and risk of error if possible.

Thanks in advance.

  Question about test scoring
Posted by: Back2School - 05-19-2006, 09:19 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

I'm 90% sure on this but wanted to make 100% sure!

If I need to get a score of 50 on the test and there are 80 questions; that means that I would need to get 40 or more right to pass. NOT 50 or more right.

Thanks in advance.

A big thanks to SirJake for his help with this!

The Ethics scenarios are finally up and available. We actually came up with these scenarios to try to help with the Ethics ECE exam, so if anyone uses these and takes the ECE, please provide feedback.

OK CLEP experts - a word problem for ya. You need 6 LL hours. Either Humanities, Accounting, or Natural Sciences would fulfill it.

Your situation is this:
You haven't picked up a science book since the early '90s (who are we kidding, since the late '80s).

You started studying accounting only to find out it's got way more math than expected AND the whole thing about which account to debit/credit just seems to be beyond you (I guess we all have our limitations!)

Humanities...that's like artists and stuff right? Smile

You have from today (after tonight's Social Science exam) until May 23 to study for it. Which would you choose?

Seriously - I'm kinda leaning toward humanities just because it's rote memorization and Snazz just posted about half the exam on another thread (thanks!). But I could push through accounting, I've done some study on it already - just don't feel confident AT ALL. What would you do?

I've read on the boards that CLEP Social Science & History is totally passable even without studying. For those of you who have taken it, would you agree?

I've taken almost everything that's on it except western civ and poli sci. And I'm doing something a little blasphemous on this one - I'm really only taking the Peterson's practice exams. My reasoning is that I don't want to study volumes of information. I'm scoring in the low 60% range on Petersons, some are easy and some I have absolutely no idea about. I'm thinking I'm OK but would love any feedback... My exam is scheduled for Thursday after work. Thanks!! Smile
