  SNHU CS 300
Posted by: Yoloangie40 - 06-24-2025, 05:59 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (5)

Hello. I am following the degree program at https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/SN...egree_Plan

And I do not see this course any longer on SNHUs site for transfer from this course at Study.com. Does anyone know another course that fits? TIA

SNHU: CS300- Data Structures and Algorithms
Study.com: CS 201: Data Structures & Algorithms

Also CS 305 and 306 from Study.com are both on the SNHU site for CS230 Operating Platforms. Do we know which one is the best to take?

Why Not Offer a Master of Liberal Studies (MLS) with Flexible Credit Transfer Options
Posted by: huiwh1998 - 06-24-2025, 05:22 PM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (7)

I've been wondering...why don't UMPI/ other schools offer a Master of Liberal Studies (MLS) program that allows students to transfer up to 75% of their graduate credits from other programs? It could be structured so that students complete the degree with just a few additional courses. Not only would this provide a flexible option for those with diverse academic backgrounds, but it seems like universities could generate more revenue by attracting a broader range of students. Since they gained a huge success in their BLS program, why not MLS too? Thoughts?

  General Classes Advice?
Posted by: Missled - 06-24-2025, 03:45 PM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (1)

Hey Guys! It's been a good while since I've last been on here! I'm looking for some advice as to what would be the best steps moving forward regarding choosing classes for UMPI. I've posted on here about 2 years ago with all my previous information if you click on my profile, if there is anything else I need to add, please let me know. I wasn't able to go through with the previous plan since I was financially supporting myself, and to work full time and complete all the classes I needed in an uncostly manner would've been impossible. But I'm married now, and my husband is letting me not work for a short time to knock out as many classes as I can.  So to sum it up I'm already accepted into UMPI your pace for Business Administration management and leadership for summer 2, they have accepted all my 80 previous transfer credits from my associates. I have taken 4 sophia (intro to ethics, intro to nutrition, Spanish 1, essentials of managing conflict). I haven't transferred them yet I honestly don't know how much credits they'd even be transferred. I may even need to take another class honestly, but I dont know the whole situation going on with Sophia and umpi right now. I feel like as long as they're elective classes they should be fine, right? I didn't get to this semester but I will transfer them for semester 2 (fall 1 I believe). So that's why with those Sophia classes in mind, I'm trying to figure out which classes I should/ need to take to be able to finish in two semesters at umpi. I know most say it's not ideal with the courseload, but I completely freed up my schedule for this reason to finish as soon as I can to move on to further my career. I'm pretty good at written work thats why i feel most confident in this. Thank You for any help!!

  8 week extension

Anyone experienced utilizing the extension? If I were to get done well before the approved extension date would they finalize the course upon my final assignment submission or until the end of the approved date?

Question Coursera a bunch of new master's degrees?
Posted by: LevelUP - 06-24-2025, 12:18 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (12)

Is it just me, or has Coursera added a bunch of new master’s degrees recently?

I don’t remember seeing this many affordable graduate options a year ago. Some of these programs are from well-known universities, and the pricing is surprisingly reasonable. Here's a list I put together in case it's helpful to others exploring Coursera Master's degrees.

Computer Science & Engineering
Engineering & Management

Sending WES Evaluation Report to UMPI
Posted by: SyedUsman - 06-24-2025, 03:56 AM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (3)

Hey Folks, I hope all is well. I'm in the process of sending my WES-evaluated high school transcript to UMPI but am having trouble locating the correct address for the UMPI YourPace Application Processing Center. The UMPI admissions page lists the following mailing address for sending documents on Yourpace Website:

PO Box 412
Bangor, ME 04402-0412

However, on the WES portal, the only preset option available for UMPI is:

University of Maine at Presque Isle – Office of Admissions (electronic delivery only)
15 Estabrooke Drive
Orono, ME 04469
United States of America

My question is: Should I select the preset electronic delivery option for "University of Maine at Presque Isle – Office of Admissions" or manually enter the PO Box address listed on the UMPI Yourpace admissions site on?

If I go with the manual option, WES asks for detailed recipient information. Here's what I’ve filled out based on the best of my knowledge:

  • Institution or Company: University of Maine

  • Division: University of Maine at Presque Isle

  • Department: Application Processing Center

  • Attention To: Office of Admissions – Application #xxxxxx

  • Country: United States

  • Street/PO Box: PO Box 412

  • City: Bangor

  • State: Maine

  • Postal/Zip Code: 04402-0412

Could you kindly review this and let me know which option is correct for submitting my WES evaluation as an international student, and to ensure that UMPI receives my transcript in a timely manner? Should I go with the preset electronic delivery to Orono, or manually enter the PO Box address listed for Bangor?

I really appreciate your guidance on this here! Thanks

Should we consider London School & Management & Technology (LSMT) DBA?
Posted by: aaronkwok2 - 06-23-2025, 10:40 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (2)

A marketing agent has been texting and calling me and I did my homework per below findings. Is London School of Management and Technology (LSMT, UK) accredited? After doing personal research, here’s what I found — LSMT is not a UK-recognised university. It is a private company (Euro American UK Ltd) and does not appear on the UK government’s official list of degree-awarding bodies. Despite the use of “London” in its name, it has no approval from UK higher education regulators such as OfS, QAA, or Ofqual. Honorary Doctorates are marketed through agents for £4,000–£10,000 with no academic requirement; they are ceremonial, not earned. MBA and DBA programs offered have no proven academic rigour or recognition from employers or credible universities. Affiliations with bodies like QAHE and Eurogroup may sound impressive but are private and not official accreditors. The website uses a ".org.uk" domain instead of the official ".ac.uk" reserved for real UK universities — a major red flag. Agent promotions are often done through WhatsApp or Telegram with “limited-time” phrases to pressure buyers. There are no clear faculty members, no academic board, and no real campus shown. The school name includes “London” to sound prestigious, but it is not linked to any public institution. It also operates under various names and partner sites, making it harder to trace. There are no verified alumni, and such awards are rarely acknowledged by media or employers. Conclusion: Be cautious. These honorary titles or degrees may look prestigious, but they lack real academic value and can damage your credibility if questioned. Always verify recognition before committing. Wink

Commonwealth University College of Medicine - $18.5K (4 years total)
Posted by: bjcheung77 - 06-23-2025, 01:54 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (6)

Commonwealth University College of Medicine - $18.5K if you get 50% off tuition (yes, the entire 4 years, not just 1 year)

One time payment, you can get this for $37K flat for all 4 years as per their link: Commonwealth University College of Medicine | Saint Lucia Country in the Caribbean

So, I was reviewing my previous list of Caribbean universities that have a medical school and came across a few newer ones that weren't on my list or ones I purposely didn't place on my list, but this one got me interested again in Caribbean Med Schools again.  It's geared for Indian nationals, but will accept others as well...

Here's a thread with 4 links to my other threads in regards to Med Schools: ACSOM - Caribbean Medical School (New!)
Here's the spreadsheet that is referenced in some of the threads: Caribbean Med Schools - Google Sheets

  Guidance on classes so far
Posted by: Tricialk - 06-23-2025, 12:53 PM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (2)

Hi! I tried to understand everything and I’m hoping I got it right to where I’ll only have to take the 10 core psychology classes once I’m enrolled at UMPI. Below is what I have completed on Sophia, and I’ll have 36 credits from Wgu transferring with me. My English gen eds are in with Wgu.

-Intro to ethics, intro to stats, human biology and lab, intro to chemistry, lifespan development, intro to nutrition, college algebra, microeconomics, critical thinking, visual communications, us history 1, us government, intro to sociology, Spanish 1, business communication, intro to psychology. And I’ll be taking the two psychology courses on study.com as well. Any feedback would be very helpful! Thank you!

Anything else I am missing?? Would it be an easier path to just do a BLS degree? I want the fastest route to graduation
