which way to go

hello all. im in a bit of a situation and looking for guidance on a shot in the dark opportunity. left undergrad in 2020 with 63 hours. I was pre med at the time. had some low grads but networked like crazy met so many admissions personnel from different schools. i thought my dream of trying to get into medical school was over but i had an admissions counselor at XYZ school randomly email me asking me to check in where i was as applying because they haven't seen my name come across any screens lately. i wrote back and explained how i left but i still want to be a doctor.. life just happened. We had a zoom meeting and just due to the fact we had history from recruitment fairs and summer programs, i was told to look at any way possible to achieve an online degree ASAP. from there they would push my app for their post bac program that starts in august with an guaranteed interview to medical school pending i keep a high GPA in the post bac program. just like that my dream is in arms reach and i have a chance to prove myself. I'm turning to this community to help me decide which route to go. luckily before leaving my last institution, i completed all but 2 pre reqs for medical school. (it is not a factor for post bac, remaining courses and mcat have to be completed before maltriclulation in summer 2023.) i am also a military veteran so i should be able to get some transfer credits there with whatever school. any recommendations on where to start? In summary, I'm told all i need is a bachelors, doesn't matter what its in, just have to met this schools requirement with having one and said person will pull my application for the postbac  and get me enrolled for this august. i appreciate you guys in advance. It's currently 50/50, but my first recommendation of UMPI BLS stands to get your GPA up...

BTW, which school do you ultimately want to get into and which program? Do you have a link to their requirements? And which Reddit sub got you here, there might be some advice that was provided to you already besides the ones we are giving you... it may be best to compare/contrast all offerings and see which one stands out.

@reignfire12, I got your PM, this info is from their website, so I suggest the following: UMPI would be your best bet to bump your GPA fast and to get you the check the box bachelors degree.  Having said that, you must make sure to have all the prerequisite courses for Med School, so you have to tell me (in PM, which Med Schools you want to get into as you need to know their prerequisites).

Basically there are so many different avenues to get into a Medical School, people usually get a Bachelors with the prerequisites completed OR, they take another year for the prerequisites after their degree, OR, the option you're doing - taking a Masters program for 'bridging' admissions into the Medical School.  It won't really matter which way, as long as you hit those prerequisites, GPA, and other requirements...

Bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or international equivalent
Official transcripts of all undergraduate, graduate, and professional coursework and, if applicable, official course by course evaluations of any foreign transcripts

Complete a minimum of four semester hours with a minimum of a C in both Biology and Chemistry with lab. Successful completion of Organic Chemistry I and II is recommended. Complete a minimum of three semester hours with a minimum of grade of a C in English or Composition.
A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

Letters of recommendation
1 letter of recommendation from a pre-professional advisory committee, OR
2 letters of recommendation from previous instructors or supervisors who can testify to the student’s characteristics, integrity, application, and aptitude in science (if an applicant has been employed for a considerable period of time, 2 letters of recommendation from employers may be substituted).

*Note, graduate entrance exam scores, such as the GRE, are not required for admission.

If you go the UMPI route, it looks like you would be starting classes on 08/29/22, considering you can complete the 90 credits of transfer by then.

You would finish up at the end of October if you could complete 10 classes in one term. Most people here can complete UMPI in 1-2 sessions.

Timelines of each school after you complete 75% of transfer credits

UMPI would be probably the quickest way to get a degree which would take a minimum of 2 months. 

SNHU would take 8 months to do if you max out the number of courses you're allowed to take each term. 

Purdue Global would take a minimum of 6 months.

At SNHU they allow you to transfer in credits after you enrolled and take classes there at SNHU, unlike WGU which doesn't allow transfers after your term starts. However, you still wouldn't get done till the end of February 2023 if you started in June 2022.

I think UMPI will be the fastest, with the biggest opportunity to raise your GPA, but nothing is going to allow you to finish before fall. Even the Big 3 would take a while, with applying, enrolling, and then taking the cornerstone and capstones: 12 weeks minimum at TESU (and that's after you get to 100cr and most of your UL complete, and you don't have any of those yet), 16 weeks at EC (cornerstone & capstone can't be done in same 8week term).

For UMPI, you'd need to take:
American Government
Sociology or World Religions or Human & Cultural Geography

You also should look at your JST to see what you have, you may have enough credits that you just do the 2 courses above, and then maybe take just a couple more credits through Sophia or ICC, and you're ready to enroll.
