I am infamous for aproaching girls in the mall that I fancy. A generalized version of what I do is below. Although it is situational and changes slightly to fit each girl and setting.

Excuse me, My name is Jake. I am in a bit of a rush to leave because I have to be (insert important place here) in a minute. But I think you are very (insert something apropriate here, the more situational the better). I was wandering if I could get your phone number (If I am in a cofee shop or someplace they are on the computer when I aproach I say email, then ask them to write down their phone number while their writing their email). I would love to chat with you and see where it leade. However like I said, I have to be somewhere at the moment.

It works often enough for me to keep doing it.

I got one. Just randomly go up to girls and say "Would you like to go out on a date with me?" My friend does this randomly, A LOT! Then again he kinda looks like a slightly taller johny depp. He also has a british accent. It works realy well for him. Though I do not think I would have as much luck. The looks help but I think it is a lot to do with the accent.

I am glad Iam married, I just asked because i was at a bar the other day with a buddy. He comes up with the stupidest crap ever thought of. But it works for him cause he looks like a brat pitt version. So kind of like your friend they could say what ever and probably crap themselves while doing it. And it still works out for them.
But not for nothing guys these lines suck ! Big Grin
A co-worker told me that she was on the bus, and this guy used his side kick.
He texted himself saying "hey i have been trying to get your attention for some time now, but you wont look up. You mind if i sit next to you " ! From there he just started talking
You got to admit thats pretty slick in my opinion.

Its less about what you say and more about confidence. In a bar women are used to being hit on. At a mall, bookstore etc. it take a lot of self confidence to just flat out walk up to a girl and say hi. A pickup line is not meant to be good. Though it does not hurt if it is. It is just meant as an ice breaker. A way to start a conversation. You do not have to be super good looking. Just confident. If your funny it does not hurt either.

Forget p/u lines! All men should learn to dance! (Not that club barhumping either, learn proper partner dancing. You won't have to say anything. Just hold out your hand and women will flock to you) It's nothing like the bar scene where I've seen plenty of women play games and only want to get a free drink .

Go to a place where it's primarily about dancing, Lindyhop (my fav), west coast swing, ballroom and latin, the women go there to dance, not drink. In fact, they may be the ones buying you the drink!

They want you to ask them to dance! They aren't there to play petty games. Asking a lady to dance- this p/u line will work every time, granted you've taken a few lessons prior and don't go throwing women around like a rag doll.

Every dance (not club) I have gone to- women far outnumber the men. That's how I met my husband. His p/u line- "Want to dance?"

Back when there was that big swing craze in the mid to late 90's there were always way more women at the club than men. I remember me and my girlfriends fighting over who would ask so and so next since there were far too many women and barely any men. Sometimes we women would have to dance together for lack of male dance partners.

I remember in one of my dance classes there were 15 women and 4 men.

The odds can't get better than that!

And you don't have to look like Brad Pitt either! Big Grin When I first started going out swing/salsa dancing in 1998,( way before the Dancing with the stars craze!) my roomate looked like Howdie Doody. Forget about p/u lines. The women at the club wouldn't wait around while he opened his mouth to say hi. He could never get dates . When we started taking lessons together and going out dancing, he would come home with numbers galore. Poor guy didn't know how to handle various girls fighting over who got to dance with him next.

I remember at this old swing dance club called Liquid in Chicago this guy who was a bit overweight named Mike, asked me to dance, turns out he was a fabulous dancer. A few music sets later this other good looking guy asked me to dance. Looked like a typical frat boy and I figured he and his friends wandered into the club by accident because I went dancing so much I knew practically everyone who came out dancing.

Turns out I was right. He didn't have a clue. He swung me around and almost tore the ligaments in my shoulder. Stepped on my feet. After that dance I thanked him and walked far, far away. Handsome though he was, I sought out the overweight guy, who was not as handsome but far more fun to dance with.

My other girlfriends and I took turns dancing with Mike. I can still see the faces of those cute yet uncoordinated guys sitting in the corner. Probably the first time they had ever been relegated to sitting in the shadows.Wheras at a regular club a guy like Mike would probably not have even been given a second look. They couldn't believe we women were dancing with him!

So leave the p/u lines at home. Learning how to dance can level the playing field for those men who don't look like Brad Pitt! Wink

But hey, don't listen to me, guys. I'm only a woman. What do I know about what women want....

cinderly Wrote:Amen, April! SO before the present Other Human was a fabulous dancer. I didn't think of him as more than just a cool friend to hang out with before he invited me to go dancing.

The present Other Human doesn't dance, but I like him anyway. Playing guitar or some other instrument is a good substitute, if you can't/won't dance.

Oh yes, how could I forget. Besides a man who can dance, playing an instrument is also something women have a weakness for. One of my friends is a serial dater of guitar players! Big Grin If you play guitar, look out, my friend will find you and add you to her little black book!

Looks also secondary to musical skill and p/u lines! Smile
