Can someone confirm that the options for using FEMA in a degree plan today are:
COSC - takes raw
Excelsior- takes via FCC $80/cr
FCC- takes raw
Is there anywhere else that anyone can think of that takes FEMA? My oldest is looking at options, and he has a good chunk of FEMA I'd like him to use. Thanks!

Clackamas Community College in Oregon and Red Rocks Community College in Colorado both take FEMA, if I recall correctly.

Also, while I don't think they take FEMA, the West Virginia Board of Governors AAS degree is *extremely* flexible, fairly cheap, and only requires three hours in residence. I have posted somewhere on the forum about details if you would like to search for it.

Earlier I didn't notice the part about FCC. You have to pay $81/ credit to have FEMA credits put on an FCC transcript. This is the transcript that Excelsior will take.
For the FCC degree, they expect you to complete an internship. On the bright side, they will count the FEMA classes toward residency requirements.

The cost difference between Clackamas and FCC/ Excelsior isn't quite as disparate as it would seem. Since Clackamas is based on quarter hours, five quarter hours ("one class") would cost about $200. The three semester hour equivalent would run about $243.
Moreover, if Jennifer's son tried to use (for example) 30 of his FEMA courses in a COSC degree, he would have completed half of the 60 semester-hour degree. At Clackamas, those same 30 credits would be accepted as quarter hours, so he would only have one-third of the 90-quarter-hour degree finished.

Clackamas does counts these FEMA credits as RESIDENT credits towards its own degree.:hurray:
