Many of you know EdX has a "Freshman Academy" set of courses that are accepted for credit in partnership with Arizona State University. Out of curiosity, I emailed COSC to see if they'd accept these credits. They are not ACE evaluated. Currently, COSC is the most liberal of the big 3 in terms of credit acceptance while TESC and EC are tightening their belt a little (TEEX, GRE, FEMA, etc.)
Got final word today:
Jennifer,
Unlike Arizona State University, we do not have a partnership with those EdX courses. In order for us to accept the credits, you would need to pay the fees to get them transcripted on an ASU transcript. Then we would likely accept them from ASU, depending on how ASU lists them on the transcript. You could reach out to ASU and ask them how those courses appear on their transcripts. If they state that they appear as their own courses, with letter grades, we should be able to accept them on a transcript from ASU.

And I read further down on the edX website for one of the courses, it looks like you have to pay $600 to get them onto the ASU transcript. Yikes!!

There are 3 specific courses edX that are in the Alternative Credit Project that are cheap ($49 for the verified certificate):
- Introduction to Differential Equations (BUx 226.1x)
- Linear Differential Equations (BUx 226.2x)
- Nonlinear Differential Equations: Order and Chaos (BUx 226.3x)
And you have to take them at the specific time they come up (Feb 2016, April 2016 and July 2016). You can't take them as "archived" courses and get the credit.
They are all 3 UL credits in math. (And as I can barely get through Int Algebra, I will NOT be taking them!! LOL!!)

COSC doesn't accept TEEX or CSU Global exams while TESC does, so it wouldn't hurt to ask TESC.

COSC has always accepted TEEX courses. This is a confirmation by ZsaZsa's transcript. They are transcribed as follows:
ITE135 Security for IT Professionals
ITE750 Cyber Security for Everyone
ITE 751 Cyber Security for Business Professionals.
Each earned 2 credits, and all were categorized as Free Electives.

Then, it must have been only Excelsior that won't accept TEEX. Tedium did receive confirmation, however, that COSC will not accept CSU Global CBEs.

COSC won't accept them because CSU does not treat them as residential credits. It's kind of strange because COSC will accept FEMAs even though they neither come from a college nor have ACE or NCCRS approval.
