update on World Religions!
#1
Here is my feedback for the DSST World Religions test. I cannot access the specific exam feedback, even though I am a paying member, due to possible server problems(??). If someone could post this there for me that would be great!

Today I went and passed the DSST World Religions with a 467! I studied for about 2 weeks, although my primarily studied hard for just one week. The resources I used were the following:

IC: The IC flashcards give you much extra information, but relevant information at the same time. Definitely know these as you go into the test.
Specific Exam Feedback: The feedback for this test is wonderful! I went and copied every single question people said might be on there and went and looked them up. I made my own study guide and quizzed myself with this information.
Religions of the World by Lewis M. HOpfe and Mark R. Woodward: I used this to get familiar with the religions. A good read-through although a little frustrating at times.

The test consisted of 94 questions. I finished going through all the questions in 30 minutes and then reviewed for 15 minutes (although I could’ve finished a lot earlier). Some of the questions on the test were straightforward questions, while others were a little subjective at times. I didn’t find the test to be that hard, although prior knowledge of questions on this forum are going to help you A BUNCH! Researching the answers to all the questions in how I got familiar with this test.

Some of the questions that I remember were the following:

Know some about Allah and what Muslims believe about him: What was NOT true of Allah? He is the creator. He is/will be a messiah. He has foreknowledge of peoples’ actions. Can’t remember the last one.
What god does Zoroastrianism believe in? (Ahura Mazda)
What good does Bhatki-marga do for people? Give them special knowledge was one of the answers.
One question on Emperor Asoka.

What is a difference between Buddhism and the belief of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism?

A question about Kalam – what it meant or did.
What is the five books of the Hebrew Bible called? (the Torah)
What books do the Church of Later Day Saints Accept? (The Book of Mormon, Doctrines and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, were three of the four answers. Hadn’t heard of the other).
Had one question about a denomination belonging to the ANABAPTIST sect.
Had a question about what the combination of the Mishnah and Gemara is. (The Talmud)
What is celebrated during Shebbat (I think the Passover)
Melagius believed that human nature is inherently good.
The Bhagavad Gita did not teach which of the following? Know some about this.
A question on the purpose or result of the Second Vatican Council.
Why did Christianity spread throughout the Roman Empire? Roads, language, no common religion, Roman slaves, and one more were the answers…
What was the major principle of Confucianism? They included Jen AND Li in the answers – so make sure you can decide between the two.
What worshipping does filique piety promote/based off of? Ancestor worship.
A question about the relationships of Confucianism.
A question about Yahweh also known as Adonai
Make sure you know some Jewish terms for God? Answers included Elohim, El Shaddai, and a couple other “El”s.

There might be some more I think up, but here is a good start of what was on my test. Again – study the IC cards and research about what people say on here, and you will be definitely prepared. Yahweh bless anyone who plans to take this test in the future!!
